Does anyone fail to apply game because it wounds cringey?

What I've noticed is sometimes when I reach a certain point in skill, some of the advice I ignored/felt cringe about before start to make sense. Its like I was missing some kind of skill set or knowledge at the time or just had a negative belief that stopped me from understanding some types of game made by others.

Its similar to an old trope of how there is a wise older man in some stories that talks in riddles that don't make sense to the young protagonist. Only to find when faced with conflict and having grown a little, it all starts to make sense.

A lot of game is kinda like that. The older masters were already masters by the time they were sharing knowledge. Its harder to understand the old shit. Like reading mystery method as a noob was kind of too much. But when I reread his book recently, I could relate to 90% of the things he said in the first few chapters because I already came to similar conclusions myself.

What you say really doesn't matter that much. It's all about the way you say it, and even more about what you tell yourself when you say it. If you tell yourself "oh my god this is ridiculous", she will think it's ridiculous. If you really try to connect and you're "in the flow", she will connect with you. Say what goes through your head, "hey, you look nice, what's your name ?" is fine, but "wow when I look at you I want to smile at the world and at the same time I feel some deep existential sadness" if fine too, if that's authentically what you feel, and if that makes sens in the moment. It's not cheesy if it's real. The key is to not try to impress her, just try to create a connection, to share an experience.

I think the hot, 18-21 UK girls here would look at me like I was mentally-sub normal and was maybe missing my carer!

So what ? Why is that an issue that people think you're stupid ? You are probably stupid, I know I am, I'm also smart and so are you. We have every qualities and every default inside us. The less you put value on what other people think of you, the more free you'll feel, and people around you will feel free too. I've had awesome interactions after people told me some awful things like "are you retarded ?" or "you sound really dumb". Don't take things personally, it's all just a game.

You got find something that fits your own style and you’re comfortable with. I’m a little more reserved and tend to just ask “how’s it going” “what are you guys celebrating” and if their answer includes an inquiry back, then I’ll pursue a little bit. The example you mentioned is a little wordy in my opinion but if it works it works.

If you're copying what other people say then yeah, it'll probably be cringey. Game isn't really about what you say. It's more.about how you say it and the fact that you approached to.say it in the first place.

I feel like this about the UK PUAs too though (and I'm from the UK).

Yes let me approach a girl in Belfast and be all, "you have blonde hair (like half the girls here) so you look like you're from Sweden, when I think of Sweden I think of"

It's almost like they're depending on girls not being enough of a native speaker to know what natural English sounds like.

Find the underlying themes in what they are saying and then rephrase it in a way that you find comfortable, while still being in line with those themes.

For example, the "walls around themselves" one is about telling her what you think she thinks about herself or her tendencies, in a way that is almost certainly correct (for anyone). The point isn't about walls, it's about having a conversation that starts from you "getting" her by asking/tellling her how she views herself. It immediately makes for an emotional conversation, not a "hey what school do you go to" or "do you come here often" go nowhere fest.

Also, remember that average people have average attitudes and do average things and get average results. If you want to achieve results that are significantly far from average, you have to act and do things that differ from what average people do.
