Does having a girlfriend actually help your game?

The reason that having a girlfriend "improves your game" is because suddenly you are not desperate at all. The fact that you are genuinely not looking and genuinely not harboring secret hopes that the women you meet will be interested in you, changes your demeanor and style. You act more natural and less desperate, and it's the lack of desperation that attracts women.

So, if you get with a girl just to attract another girl, it won't help. Because you still harbor all those secret hopes of attracting the other girl. You aren't actually trying to avoid hitting it off with women who aren't your girlfriend.

Also, if I may step on a soapbox for a minute - when you become willing to lie to women or deceive women about your intentions towards them in order to get ahead in the game, you have sold your soul and become a bad person. Don't be a bad person. Getting with a girl you don't really want will necessarily involve lying to her or at least misrepresenting your true level of interest to her. Of course she's going to think you like her back and she's going to invest emotionally into you in return because she trusts you - a trust you are entirely unworthy of receiving. And when you reveal your lack of interest, she is going to get hurt. Now, it's one thing to cause hurt feelings as a part of genuinely and honestly dating and trying, but it's another thing entirely to plan to hurt someone's feelings ahead of time in such a calculated, premeditated way.

Having a girlfriend does help your game, but it is also very unethical to date a girl for the purpose of getting another girl.

Leave her better than you found her, and don't try to rationalize.

Yes. Having any girl there for you besides the one you're chasing makes the chasee want you more. Men have known this since prehistoric times.

I don't see why you see yourself limited to those options though. Pursue things with Cute Girl, see how it goes, just don't declare yourself dating and exclusive to her because you saw a fucking movie with her or kissed her. Simultaneously, you can pursue Hard to Get Girl. Dating around is fair game until you're fairly serious, i.e. a good few weeks to a month in depending on how you guys are spending your time together.

Just do not mislead Cute Girl into believing things are more serious or exclusive than they are.

Definitely don't opt for a long term relationship with one girl just as a stepping stool for another girl. That's just wrong and hurtful.

Girls find guys with girlfriends more attractive, its pre selection.

Just lie and tell all these girls you have a girlfriend, then when the moment is right tell them you broke up.

Its better than using a girl.

From what i've noticed with my own experience, it seems that to alot of women it's a status thing. If you have a girlfriend, especially one that another female sees as below her own status, then she wonders what the other girl has that she doesn't, or something like that. It makes her want to have you so she can feel better about herself.

When I was in a relationship I would be more comfortable flirting with other girls. Now that I am not in a relationship it seems I have to work harder to talk to women. But I'm getting past my AA.
