Say anything. Talk to cute girls for at least 5 minutes every day and it gets easier because you stop filtering yourself. Have more conversations period.

Read models. I started yesterday, and I learn so much. Based on that book, I would say you probably held back a lot of stuff you wanted to tell her. This because you were afraid of her reaction. Maybe actually bringing up more meaningful (and scary) stuff would have made you connect.

If this is a sinking ship, I would just tell her about what's on your mind. I'm not saying this will win her over, but you get a real experience from it. For instance, maybe she reacts positively to your honesty, but rejects you. Then you will have witnessed the power of honesty. With the next girl, maybe you will be more willing to share your feelings and thoughts.

Sounds like she's been waiting on you to make some physical contact but you just keep talking. You're missing the whole flirting part!

On the walk, you could have at least did the old '5th grade shoulder bump' and got in a light pushing match with her. You could have put your arm around her as you told her a story, hell you could have probably held her hands and skipped like an idiot to make her laugh.

If there is a lull in the conversation, let it go. Let there be silence, its sometimes better to just be together in silence. And instead trying to blab her ear off about stuff no one really cares about, make plans for an actual date! or talk about sex! or talk about the next time you are going to hang out to get drunk! Hell or just kiss her already! JUST DO SOMETHING

It sounds like you are spinning your wheels with this girl, if you want it to go somewhere, get physical. Otherwise you are just going to be this "guy who keeps talking to her for some reason" and she'll move on to another guy.
