I've been reading a lot of posts on here recently where everyone says "I thought I should do bla because I read bla and she should respond with bla"

GUYS and GALS: A date should be about enjoying yourself and your company, not over-analyzing everything.

Occasionally you can remind yourself of tips and tricks that you've learned, but it is exhausting and impossible to think about everything you say and do in relation to things that you have read on here.

I love reading things that people have done that worked to get a girl's number, or something that worked for having a successful first date, or whatever else. If I read something earlier that day and I remember it while talking to a girl, I might try to apply it to our conversation. But I am never, never, analyzing everything she says and trying to think of my best move to get her in bed. I act like myself and have a regular conversation.

Did you hear me? A regular conversation. If I see a cute girl, I might walk up to her and start talking to her like any guy friend that I have. The main difference is that I might compliment her dress or tell her that I love her glasses, or whatever else. But I am calm and collected and most importantly my mind is at ease. I don't know what she is going to say next, and I don't know how she'll respond to anything that I say, but that's okay - she's just a girl and I am just enjoying her company.

I felt like it was time for us all to be reminded to take everything in this subreddit lightly. They are all great tips and stories by great people. But really, when it comes down to it, you should ABSOLUTELY NOT be constantly reminding yourself of things that you read on here. Your brain can't process all of that information while also focusing on your date - and it is much more important that you focus on her/him.

Tl;dr: Focus on the girl that you are enjoying, not on the silly little tricks that you think will get you laid. With that approach, they wont.
