Here's a little advice taken from personal experience: Give her space.

This post was initially a cry for help. I started writing a long-ass text explaining my insecurities concerning a girl I just started seeing and how all of a sudden she had become cold and distant after everything was going great between us. But as I was writing my text I began to realize how stupid and insecure I sounded.

She hadn't become cold and distance because of me. It was because of everything else in her life. How do I know? Because she told me. She explained to me how her ex was clingy and that's why she broke up with him. She also explained to me how one of the reasons she liked me is because I DID give her space. She just had a lot going on in her life and it all hit at once (being super sick for a month, being away from family, ex-bf still trying to ruin her life). She didn't want to mix me (a new relationship) with all the negative things in her life. But of course I still had my doubts and kept thinking it was me. That's what guys do, they invest themselves too much in the new relationship and become attached to the girl far sooner than the girl gets attached to you. I was pretty good at giving her space as I mentioned. But I felt my self starting to become a little more desperate and insecure due to the fact that we weren't seeing each other so much anymore. You know, do to her being super sick. I wasn't giving her as much space as I previously had. I started to doubt whether she still liked me or not. But instead of being pushy and clingy I took a step back and evaluated the situation. She still liked me because she's told me several times, even after becoming cold and distant. The reason we weren't seing each other so much was because she was super sick and getting worse (in the recovery stage now). She likes her space and appreciates that I give it to her. So I kept doing that. Whenever I felt insecure about why I hadn't heard from her in however many hours (yes sounds pathetic, only a couple of hours, not days) and why we hadn't seen each other more than 2 times that month, instead of sending her a bunch of texts asking if she still liked me? If I would get to see her again soon? If everything was ok between us? I just took a step back and waited. Moved on with my life and hobbies. Tried not to think of her. And guess what, I would receive a text from her and everything would be fine. Because I waited. And it sounds silly because we still text everyday. Why would she if she wasn't interested, right?

So my advice to you is: Give her space. Stop doubting yourself. Unless you're a complete jack-ass, the reason why she seems cold and distant all of a sudden probably isn't because of you. She has a life that doesn't always have to include you in it. Live your life, give her space and she will become more attracted to you. But if you start becoming clingy and desperate you will lose her. Yes, maybe at first she was distant because of school/work/family troubles, but she didn't need you to start acting desperate and childish always seeking her attention. So now YOU are the reason she's remaining cold and distant. Stop dissecting every little text or move from her part. Stop checking your phone every 2 minutes or texting her all the time. Give her space and time. And in the end it will all work out. And you will look back at it and realized how you could have messed it all up if you had given in to your insecurities. Sometimes the best things in life are worth waiting for. Remember, women approach relationships different, and a lot slower than men. So take it easy and give her space.

Oh, and my second piece of advise. If you ever doubt your relationship (whether its a new one or one you've had for a while) start writing down your thoughts. As if you were asking reddit for advice. Write down what the problem is, the details, the things she's said. What you have done and said, and you might just realize it all sounds silly. That nothing is wrong and theres no need to do what guys do best, ruin things. It put things into perspective.
