I (20M) saw this cute girls social media story, I swiped up then me & her and we started talking. Basic stuff like school, corona. I was pumped because I just finished an anime that inspired me.

I asked her out (no wishy washy stuff I said a place and a day/time) and she kindly rejected saying she doesn’t want to go out because of COVID. My area isn’t that bad in regards to COVID (restaurants are open, etc) so it would’ve been acceptable to go out but if she doesn’t feel safe then that’s ok, I get it.

I just told her fair enough and I haven’t texted her since. She was really nice about it, I think that’s the most direct anyone’s ever been with me. She seemed kinda sad about it in her rejection, it wasn’t just a no which was different to me.

But this did bring my spirit down a little. I’m glad I did it, but I always get rejected. It’s hard to be positive when I never succeed. I’ve been single my whole life. I don’t use tinder or any of that bs, hookup culture doesn’t interest me. I have few options with college being online & the fact that I’m still in my hometown. I’m kinda stuck.
