I had a pretty weird interaction during an approach last night that's left me confused. I've been practicing for about a year and a half now, and I've never had someone react like this. I've been snubbed or ignored, but never cursed at and told to leave.

So, for context, I was at a bar and saw two cute early 20's girls talking a bit further down. I'm mid-20's and could maybe pass for around their age. Anyway, I walked up, and said a line which I've used before with no issue "Excuse me, hi. I saw you two and I'd like to introduce myself."

One of the two instantly responded with "Okay, you've done that, bye."

I was about to respond when she added, "You've already done this to me."

So, I hadn't been sure, but it turns out that I had briefly spoken to this girl a few days earlier at the same bar. Not even a real conversation, I just said hi and gave her a compliment before leaving for the night. I'd thought she'd looked familiar but I wasn't certain that it was the same girl.

She explained that to me and basically yelled at me "Get the fuck out of here."

Her friend, meanwhile, just seemed surprised by the reaction. She definitely wasn't as hostile.

Anyway, I've been thinking about it and wonder if anyone has any other thoughts on what that girl was thinking. Normally, when I've given compliments both during the day and night I've gotten grateful responses. Women have told me they appreciate it, or even that I made their day. Hell, one approach I did at a bar started with saying that I thought a girl was cute and an hour and a half later she invites me to her apartment. So I'm honestly just confused by what's happened here.

I'm guessing that for some reason this girl was offended by me just saying a few brief words to her a few days before. Maybe I should have talked to her longer the first time, or maybe she thinks I was playing some sort of prank on her. I don't think she was in an unrelated bad mood, she'd been cheerfully chatting with her friends a few minutes before I'd approached.

I don't think it's my appearance. I'd say I'm average to slightly above average, and that's been enough to even have women come up to me occasionally.
