Have times changed or is it just me?

I’m pretty young so I don’t have much experience in any time earlier than 2015. I can say, however, that development of social media and dating apps have significantly changed the mindset of guys and girls alike.

Girls are fucking glued to tinder, instagram, and Snapchat. It’s a constant cycle of validation and competition between each other to see who gets the hottest guy, the most likes on a photo, or the most “swipe ups” on their snap story.

The times have definitely changed, and unfortunately we all just have to suck it up and adapt.

I feel like we haven't even BEGUN to truly understand the effect that social media has had. I think the effect is likely gargantuan

I graduated high school in 2011 also and agree with you. These days it seems apps like Tinder make it easy for women to receive instant validation and everyone is glued to their phones. Along with that ghosting has more of a presence.

Hell I graduated in 2003, I didn't have to deal with any of that nonsense. But I'm a 33 yr old habitually single workaholic and I would say it has been odd having to adjust with all of that. I still do well hitting up bars and such but its definitely alot more of a challenge, which I dont mind for the most part but when I take out a younger girl say under 25, I'm astounded where alot of their priorities are when it comes to self worth.

Grad 2001 - I just posted about female communication issues. But, not even about dating. Just like general people skills. I am finding out that from a conversation perspective, only older women tend to even interest me in that way.

Like i went to huge outdoor party and cold approached 15 to 20 girls. A few groups even. The only way i seemed to navigate this and keeping it interesting was by trying to gain IG followers in the process. If i got shot down, i would tell them they have to follow me on IG at the very least.

But, i can't remember one interesting conversation. I ran into a lot of girls I went to school with from 2008 or 2009. To be fair, they didn't give me the time of day back then....but damn these girls put on the lbs. But, even from a general conversational standpoint, it was lame....not one of them said anything interesting about life or hobbies or anything. I am a great conversationalist and I am always complimented on my ability to speak to anyone at any time.

When it comes to Ghosting, I have a three contact rule that has never failed. But, sometimes its like....just fucking say up front if you are not interested? I had a woman the other day just say "no thank you" to my request for her number. It was refreshing.

Just on a rant: I feel like this behavior never gets checked the way male bad behavior gets put on display. Like i need to write a PSA about how women should not communicate with men. How would that go over?

Focus on real life and go from there...yea its sad to see everyone with a God dam tint computer I their hands all the time
