How bad is going out alone considered?

I used to go out alone a lot. It's not that bad. I'm in the Bay Area if you're looking for a wing.

people go out in groups because they don't like to go out alone. they're uncomfortable in their own skin to be in public by themselves. movies alone, dinner alone, bar/club alone, it's not just the stigma of "people will see me by myself and think i'm a loser without friends" it's largely the fact that their friends are their security blankets.

so point it out, and point out you're not one of those people.

It's considered creepy if you're being creepy. There is nothing inherently creepy about flying solo.

You can frame it better by owning it. Someone points out that you're by yourself and own up to it and say that you like to go out by yourself occasionally.

Yep. They'll do that when you're out alone. So your friends aren't into going out. So what? Your fun isn't dependent on them. The idea that you're able to get out by yourself and still have a good time, makes a guy attractive and confident.

Nope. It's not considered creepy. If you're doing things that demonstrate you're out to get what you want but you don't care what they want and will disregard it if they lay a boundary for you...... that is creepy. Simply being out alone, is not creepy.

You know as well as I do, that it's possible to be invited to join groups. They don't do that if it's inherently creepy.

I just moved to a new area a couple months back, and knew nobody. Go out to have fun man, it's not creepy what so ever. Think of it this way, if you had a $500 concert or cruise ticket and nobody to go with you, would you let that stop u from going?..... Of course not. You'll get asked "who are you with"...." did you come alone"..... "where are your friends" and just be honest. "Ehh my friends didn't want to go out, but that's not going to hinder how pleasurable I find my night" ...... "I just moved here so I'm always into meeting new people and trying new things" ..... Sometimes if the convo is going good and I wanna be playful I'll even say (with a winkl "pump the breaks pretty lady, super man didn't need a side kick and neither do I" ....... Etc. In a month or so I've developed a bunch of new friendships with many different groups of people. People I go dancing with, shoot pool with, go drinking with, and just..... Go Out with. People I work out with, jog, hell just meet up for coffee or dinner cause we enjoy each other's company.

Here's a tip: as soon as u get a new name (specially bartender design, door guys, managers, etc) make a note in your phone of their name, where, what they are, short description. Sooner or later youll get to know people on a first name basis and ur network will grow so u don't really need to go out with ppl, but rather become confident in meeting ppl when u go out.

Hey man. I have a similar problem but I have not gone out as much. Not that I am scared to be alone but like your other comment showed, many girls think its creepy especially if you are in a hip bar or club.

So basically when my friends are all busy I go but I use the excuse:

I lost my friends (works at a big club)
My friends are on their way.
My friends are on the dance floor
I just moved here

1-3 are the best. #4 my friend has used that for 10 years but IMO it's not that good.

I make sure to leave after an hour or so especially if I gotten some #s because if those girls see you there two hours later alone it will look suspect.

At that point if there are other good places I go there. If not, I call it a night.
