Find local improv classes.

Make fun of your serious side by mocking it. Like right now while you're reading this do what a little kid does when an adult is being too serious, "Blah blah blah, huff puff important sounding noise, listen to me, it's good for you." Then when you hear yourself being serious, act like a goofy kid making light of your seriousness, and let the one you're talking to in on the joke.

Agree and amplify. This little principle of blowing up shit tests is good leeway lighthearted joking. Humour is exaggerated and silly.

I feel like it takes quite a lot to make me laugh. I don't know. Maybe I'm just too tense. I know that laughing more would probably result in getting better with girls.

I disagree with comments on goofy and silly. Being goofy is NOT the same as being funny. One is attractive to women, one is not. I wrote about that in detail here: https://www.joshsway.com/articles/view/be-funny-not-goofy

As for tips on being funny, one good one is to circle back to previous jokes that either you made or someone else made. Sienfeld episodes are great at that; they almost always end with a reference back to a joke from earlier in the episode.

Watch comedians (not just for the jokes, but their delivery, how they act, how they present themselves and the joke as one unit, etc.), become informed about a lot of things, and practice. I've been a smartass for a good chuck of my life, and considered I've always embraced it, it's helped me a lot in keeping my wit up, so I'm pretty good at responding to things with witty stuff. Also, not every response you think of will be funny/witty, but embracing that will make learning much easier.

Humor is all about timing, also keep in mind you don't need to use words. Look at Steve Harvey on family feud, when someone says something strange he doesn't even need to say anything, just gives a shocked looked and people crack up. If she says something weird, give her a shocked look (relax your face so it doesn't look serious).

Another thing you can do is pick something out you see thats funny, like a guy wearing cowboy boots and a cowboy hat; make fun of him. Be sure not to be overly-insulting or inappropriate, but point him out and say "alright Clint Eastwood, this isn't the Wild West". These are examples and they work well for me. Other than that, stay away from cursing, don't be mean and don't overdue it or try too hard. Hope this helps, cheers.

Do some research on humour and find what makes you laugh. I find a lot of being funny is just relaxing into the mindset where you make absurd/obscene/nostalgic/unexpected connections to things people say or do.

If you take an improv class or just do some youtube exercises with someone it trains you to be in a funny mindset.

Sort of unrelated but you might pay attention to how you communicate on the pessimist/optimist scale. I find myself gravitating towards pessimist comments and conversational topics. Its sounds similar to her not engaging your seriousness, fun conversation is always optimistic. Funny conversation can be pessimistic, eg louie ck, but while funny for groups its bad at engaging fun positive emotions one on one.

Just be sure you don't go over board with the humor. I used to end up falling into the territory of silly. I've since learned that women want a man with a sense of humor, not a clown. Just my two cents. Oh and PS you could also check out like a book or two on comedy writing.

Stand up comedians, study the humor in good TV shows.

If you watched Dragonball z as a kid, go watch Dragonball z abridged(on YouTube), a lot of their humor is genius. Start on episode 40ish for their best stuff.
