I believe a part of the problem is that you are asking a question, but you do not really care about the answer. Try asking something you really care about. Or use statements instead of questions, it can be better sometimes.

You really want to talk to someone cause you're genuinely interested in them as a person. So, the trick really is to not even think about it. Pretend like you're talking to an old friend or someone you already know. You're just trying to get reacquainted. Kind've broad answer, but hope that helps.

Learn to do fun test or maybe have a joke-a-day thing, to help you get her to laugh.

Search for "the cube", or "chick crack"

Questions are boring. But the rapport isn't. So ask away. But aim for questions that cant be followed by a yes or no answer.

When in doubt, just keep talking.

It doesn't really matter what you ask a chick. If you're awesome then she'll be responsive to even the most mundane shit. You need to improve yourself and then, at the end of class, look around for the chick who is lingering in the hopes that you'll approach her. Then you should tease the hell out of her.
