You're in a bar, or really anywhere. How do you ditch the girl who's approached you when you want nothing to do with her? I ask because older women seem to be drawn to me, and it's not as cool as it sounds. I've been in a situation where I'll be walking up to get a drink and a woman will literally grab me to get me to start dancing with her. I've even been trapped in there when I tried to get out. Lol, can you imagine if an older guy did that to a younger girl? Oh, double standards abound.

Is there a way to make the most of this? I can't imagine the girls I want to attract see any of this as particularly high value behavior, even if I'm nice enough to indulge an older woman (I'm not).

I've also been approached by girls my age who I'm just not attracted to. How do you lose them without coming off as an asshole?

Just for everyone's edification, I diffused the older woman situation by pointing to my buddy and telling her it was his birthday and she should dance with him. Yup, I threw him right under the fucking bus, and that's what he gets for laughing at me as I was swarmed by cougar wannabes. We all had a good laugh, but I could seriously use some sound advice on grenade jumping.

edit: From the responses, it seems like people have the idea that I'm trying to avoid talking to women I'm not interested in. That's not the case. I can talk to people just fine. The issue is escaping from women who nearly corner you on the dance floor or drag you out there when you don't want to dance with them. Preferably, I'd like to handle it with tact in the future. So what do I do? Make up a verbal excuse, lead them somewhere else, etc? Or does such a direct and desperate approach not deserve any tact?
