So, just some quick context. Before freshman year of college, I was basically a shut-in. I had no female friends, and very few guy friends, too. When college hit, I honestly didn't know anything about socializing at all (with girls or otherwise). ANYWAY, I decided to try Theatre, and being on stage, doing shit like Equus and having stage kisses and such made me realize how most sexual shit really is no big deal, and because it's no big deal, how easy it is to just go up to girls and such and flirt with them (and obviously do stuff offstage)

IUNNO, what i seem to be trying to get at is that engaging in shit like theatre is probably a good idea if you still feel uncomfortable with escalating and such, since doing stuff on stage makes you realize how easy it is to just chill. Also: doing shit like Rocky Horror and Equus gave me a bit of a mantra in terms of "SHES PROBABLY ALREADY SEEN ME COMPLETELY NAKED OR IN A CORSET ANYWAY" which helped kill AA. tl;dr: If you're socially inept and want to improve really fast, do stuff like theatre/immediately throw yourself into the deep end.
