Hello boys, I've been having some flakes lately (mainly because I've been doing a lot more approaches, and with a larger sample size comes more good and also more 'bad' experiences). Yesterday i had a date planned with a girl I met from a cold-daytime approach. I confirmed with a text a few hours before, she confirmed back. All good. Literally 5 minutes before she cancels, and says she's not interested + some sugarcoating BS about how I should not let her affect my confidence and meeting other women (one of the weirder texts I got). I reacted with confusion, and anger - and ultimately sent a text I should not have sent. That being said, it got me thinking....what can I do to avoid this negative state of mind? Flaking will always happen, less with experience, but still, it will happen. So I thought of something -

When you set a date with a woman, think of it as your back-up plan for the evening. You have your own plan for the evening - and to be logistically logical, that plan should be scheduled to start 30 minutes or so after your date. That plan would have to be something you do on your own - look up cool events nearby, a public speaking meeting, a language meet-up, an interesting documentary viewing (essentially something cool where you can go to self-improve while meeting cool people in the process). Throughout the day, in your mind, that's the plan you're going to. If the girl cancels, then it's irrelevant because SHE was the back-up to your plan - if she doesn't cancel, then you go to the date (almost a bit bummed out for missing that other cool event :P)

Not only would that motivate us to look for cool events to attend and expand our comfort zones and social network (and by all means, we should be going to such events on nights when we don't have dates planned too), but it also changes the value of the date from the highlight of the day to the back-up.
