As a woman myself, I would just say go for it. You're either going to get rejected or succeed. Right now, it appears that you are putting yourself in the friendzone. Here's some advice using parts of the The D.E.N.N.I.S. system:

D- Demonstrate Value. For the love of all that is Holy, Pick the dates. Men should NEVER. I repeat. NEVER go shopping with a woman as a date. If you go shopping with a woman as a date, chances are you are helping her pick out an outfit for her date with someone else. You should be picking the dates. This shows that you can take charge,assert yourself, and that you know what you want. Plan the dates to show off your potential and make sure it will be fun/enjoyable for both of you. If you are good at sports, music, etc. SHOW HER. Take her to the batting cages, invite her to a show you preforming at.

E- Engage Physically. Use body language and your hands. Place your hand on her knee, shoulder, or back. Dammit man! Hold her hand. Get out of the friend zone any way you can. Basically from what you've written, you are showing girls that you would make the perfect unofficial gay best friend.

Make a move that does not scream "gay best friend". Go after what you want. Don't be afraid of rejection (it won't be your first or your last time). Some girls may not like it, and some girls will love it.

You can also: * N- Nurture Dependence, * N- Neglect Emotionally * I- Inspire Hope, * and S- Separate Entirely.

That's your choice.

Museum:

Watch for hard IOI's
see hard IOI's
dare her to do something crazy at the museum. For example, lead the game by touching something you're not supposed to touch, etc. Make it fun.
When you notice the peak of the emotional escalation (for examples watch the body language of girls about to be first-kissed in almost every chick), say "What's the craziest thing you've ever done in a museum?"
Perform step 4 in a confident and playful tone with pauses to look at her lips as you talk.
She says "I don't know" or "this" or anything is fine
Go in for the kiss

The ideal situation requires that you have set enough groundwork for the kiss to be natural. Hard IOI's are extremely important. Since you're already talking in a museum, you've built up enough comfort. If she gives you hard IOI's, do the above steps and profit.

This same procedure applies to every other "date".

Summarizing Emotional Progression Model:

Open/Introduction
Attraction (build IOI's by DHV)
Qualification (why should be interested in her? She needs to DHV to you)
Build comfort (typical questions like what are you into, what are you passionate about, shit in common, etc)
Seduction (in this case, seduction is what you're trying to do on your date)
Rainbows and candy

As long as you have performed a socially acceptable introduction, made her interested in you by being fucking awesome, then proceed to ask her why she's cool ("I love the bar scene in town, but honestly I end up meeting and dating too many beautiful, but one dimensional girls. What makes you interesting? or What makes you different than the other girls here?" or something like that), then when it's established that you two are interested in each other and only then can you build comfort.

Once you've done all these steps/are in the process of doing these steps (most of them do overlap), proceed with the above framework for seduction.

Answering my own question a bit, but just today I found a great way to escalate and make it seem very natural... we went ice skating, which works especially well if your partner cannot skate (which she couldn't), plenty of laughing, hand holding, body holding... which led to a drink after, feeling a lot more comfortable being so close with each other, then a kiss that felt natural and not forced at all...

So if you guys get a chance, try it! Now need to work out what to do in the summer for first dates...

I've had the most success with going out for drinks later in the evening. A little bit of alcohol, especially if you're sitting at a bar or somewhere where you're sitting next to her really works. A couple of girls I could have taken into an alley and had sex with right after leaving the bar. I've had luck with other kinds of dates too but the ones that are easiest to turn sexual right away are dates after dark that involve a little alcohol.

I think the obvious answers to this one is to GO ON A DATE THAT YOU CAN ESCALATE AT!

You are going to have a hard time no matter what when you are going shopping, to a museum, etc. Honestly, going on a date shopping sounds like you are her bitch and will more likely end in the friend zone instead of the fuck zone. Like wtf man? Come up with a little better dates. Get her over your place before or after and take it from there. Grab a drink before dinner or after or something. Take her to anything that is more interactive than these. I also find night dates generally preferable than daytime dates that you seem to be using.

What do you do when ending the date? You should be trying to end with "hanging out" at your place or hers and escalating from there.
