I need help on keeping the conversion interesting when approaching someone you don't know

During a conversation you need to think of the person being a completely blank character/canvas, and your goal is to find out what kind of character they are so you'll know how they'll fit in your story (your life).

You do this by asking thought provoking and personal questions, and a side affect of that will be a deep and interesting conversation.

So, what questions are personal and thought provoking? Well, they are questions that hit on one of three things:

1) emotions

2) motivations

3) character traits

You can turn the most boring topic into an interesting one by asking a question involving one of those three things. Example:

Him: "Are you from around here?

Her: "no i just moved here from [where ever]"

Him: "oh wow, isn't it kind of scary to move away from home?"

This last question asked is a cold reading about an emotion along with an assumption. Even if you're completely wrong she will correct you by talking about an emotion.

Other possible responses could be:

Him: "Let me guess: you moved here because you're the risky adventurous typed and you're looking for an adventure." [Asking about a character trait]

Or

Him: "Did you move here to experience the city life?" [Asking about her motivations]

There are virtually infinite examples, but hopefully this will help give you a starting point.

A few things that seem to work for me:

You already know not to rely on the standard, mindless chit chat (work, school, weather, etc.). That's a biggie
Ask for advice. People are flattered by the idea that you you designate them an authority on any topic.
Try to think of topics that are slightly unconventional.
I'm not recommending "gaming" girls, but it does help if you start a conversation that you've already had before. You will know what to expect, and will hopefully will have a supply of witty repartees at your disposal.
Let the other person do most of the talking. However, if you mindlessly ask question after question, or agree with everything they say, you won't be contributing much and they will ultimately grow bored.
Be an active listener. Look the person in the eye, and be attuned to their body language and they what they are feeling. For example, are they fidgeting? That could be a sign that you have over-stayed your welcome.
If there is a group of people, try to get everyone involved. If you manage to get a group of girls debating amongst themselves, you have already succeeded.
Practice, practice, practice. It's the holiday season now and therefore, the time for awkward Holiday parties. What better opportunity to test out your material?

I usually use the trick of adding ten percent to the amount of feet when converting it to meters. I do it as many times as needed.

The biggest breakthrough that I had was that I should be making more statements about her, and asking fewer questions.

People (not just girls) love hearing other people express opinions about them. If you're right, they'll think you're very perceptive. If you're wrong, they'll rush to correct you (indirectly giving you importance).

Statements naturally lead to a flow in the conversation. Questions tend to make things fall flat.

Dude find things she is passionate about, "neg" her just a bit (I use that word sparingly, just make fun of her in a lighthearted/flirty way - don't forget the shit eating grin) about it, keep going back to it if needed.

Things is general as fuck, but it can really be something silly from horseback riding to manga.

Oh yeah, don't forget to talk about yourself too, but do make sure to keep the convo focused on her at least on the initial approach. After all, you hit on her.

A lot of these guys are saying " find her passion" And "find out who she is as a person". Personally I don't do that until much later when I know they are interested. In the beginning I try to be as unconventional as possible. Lots of roleplaying jokes, obvious fantastical replies and jokes. Keep it light and fun and original to you. I personally am a goof so I always just mess with them in a fun way. Evoke some laughter and a girl will love you for it.

Hobbie! Find out about the things she likes to talk about. Find hthe things she likes to >So, i have no problem with apparoaching women. The problem is to keep the conversion interesting. It's easy to keep alive, but not interesting. Who wants to talk about their work or school things the bar for longer than a minute. Do you guys have any routines/topics you can use in case the conversion dies. Of course you could just move on, but this might get boring if conversion dies more than once.

discuss with her friends and take it from there.
