When I see myself in the mirror, oftentimes, I see a handsome dude and the image I have of myself is that of someone who is well adjusted and appears sociable to other people. At the same time, I'm someone who has few friends in college and hasn't gotten laid yet. While I suffer from a lack of self esteem, internally, I have a really high opinion of myself (if that makes any sense), and it seems that other people might have a vastly different opinion of me. I think I'm really cool and some what good looking, but, sometimes, when I look at myself in photos and videos, and look back at my interactions with other people from a different perspective, I can see a version of myself that is incompatible with my own self image. Man, this might not make any sense to you guys but I'm unsure if I lack self awareness, and while I'm ready to be comfortable with who I am and what people think of me (because who gives a shit what they think of me, right?), I feel like my world is turned upside down when I see myself from other people's perspective (or what I think is their perspective). I realize different people have different opinions and nobody can fit a certain preset description such as ugly, nerdy, or whatever.

Am I so comfortable with who I am that I just don't give a fuck about how people see me or am I just delusional, like the one kid in the Blake Griffin commercials who thinks he's hot shit for no reason?

I guess my question is, if I have no fucking idea what I look like to women (and people in general) how am I supposed to calibrate my interactions with them accordingly? Like, projecting confidence, is obviously a catalyst for success in anything, but what if I project confidence and I'm actually driving people away because that confidence is misplaced on someone who actually seems like a fucking idiot?

I just don't know man.
