Hmm. One thing regarding your example, it's interesting how the 400-lb man has to put on a circus show to gain the attention the gym rat would by just acting like a normal person rather than a wall flower. Bad looks can be overcome, but they are disadvantage unless you do something about it.

I'll agree. I went to the bar tonight, and the guy holding all the attention and making the place fun was a rather big dude. He's pretty cool.

The 400 pound man is a bad example. A 400 pound man is always the funny guy, somehow.

I remember seeing an interview with the comedian Artie Lange, he had just lost like 100 pounds and was in moderately good shape but still fat. He said he was having trouble getting work. Agents told him he was not thin enough to be "normal" but not fat enough to be funny. He eventually got fat and started getting work again.

i guess its all about standing out, people understand that to mean standing on the periphery of a party and girls probably go, oh it looks like you are not having fun implies you must not be a fun person(i think, not very sure about how the female brain works ^_⁾

i was watching the first season of Louie and i had thought, that Louie CK has more style than a lot of the people that People(the magazine) or other such trashy rags tell us on a daily basis about. I mean it is not about having an attractive body or anything, i mean you get out and have fun and the people around you enjoy your company, then you get laid, in a nutshell. and it is sort of hard to teach a man how to make his company pleasant, that is something to figure out by your own self.

oh and i sort of support ricky gervais on obesity...

Looks themselves don't matter that much, but the confidence said looks can give you does matter a lot, the trick is to have that confidence, with or without the looks
