I’m a younger guy and I’m having trouble figuring out how you guys navigate casual relationships. I’m not looking for a committed girlfriend, and I’ve decided I want to date/sleep with a bunch of girls and have fun. However, I also don’t love one-night stands or meaningless hookups. I truly believe in the “friends” aspect of friends with benefits, and I don’t want to keep a girl at arm’s length just to avoid attachment.

If you’re taking girls out, having fun, and actually getting to know them, you’re basically dating just without exclusivity, or any future expectations. You each get the best of both worlds (bf/gf and fuckbuddy). But what are the limits to this type of relationship? To maintain this with one girl is simple. You just have to tell her you don’t want any long-term commitment. The problem arises when you’re doing this with multiple girls….

It’s hard to imagine having what’s basically an open relationship with multiple girlfriends. If you’re banging more than one girl, then those girls are also free to fuck as many guys as they want. And I feel like it makes it a lot more complex and multiple questions arise:

Does that not detract from the “friendship” aspect in any way? Do you talk about the other people you’re seeing? What do you do if you’re out with a girl and run into another girl you’re banging, or the girl you’re out with runs into another guy she’s banging? As unrealistic as it sounds, it’s a good example to show how things may get weird as fuck.

I just can’t wrap my head around how you guys (or even IF you guys) manage multiple FWBs without negatively affecting the “friendship” aspect. Any insight would be appreciated.
