Okay so going out with friends can be a great time when you’re with the right people. But from my experiences, if you’re going out with the sole purpose of getting some action, a so called “wingman” can actually hinder your chances in certain situations. For example, you approach a girl and she’s into you. She’s with a friend who isn’t as attractive and obviously you want your friend to take one for the team as you have done for him many a time. You pop off to use the toilet and they’re flirting with the girl you like… annoying as hell. Happened to me last week so I decided to go out twice this weekend on my own and see how I handle myself.

First night, went to a bar not knowing anyone so decided to prepare myself for the next day instead. Went to the smoking area and got chatting to the bouncer. Slipped him a cheeky tip which comes in handy the next night. Tipped all the bar staff pretty well, introduced myself and became friends with most of them. Rest of the night I was just getting comfortable in the setting and the fact that I’m out on my own which after a few drinks became totally fine. Got talking to a group of girls and ended up making out with one of them in the smoking area. They did ask me why I’m out on my own to which I responded “sometimes you just need to learn to enjoy your own company” which they loved!

Next night, I go to the same bar. I skip the queue as the bouncer recognises me and decides to give me VIP treatment for the tip ( this isn’t where the tip came in handy btw ). I go to the bar and all the bartenders recognise me aswell which adds to my social proof and gets some girls interested in me before I’ve even had my first drink. Immediately a girl comes up to me and starts a conversation asking who I am and why everyone knows me to which I responded with “I don’t really care much about people knowing me, you’re the only one I want to know me here” which I thought was pretty tucking slick. She was intrigued and we spent most of the night together talking/dancing etc. Towards the end of the night, it gets busier in the bar and she accidentally spills some of her drink on some random guys shirt. He gets pretty annoyed and starts throwing a fit about it so I decide to step in and defend her. He then decides to throw the classic “meet me outside” line to which I confidently and happily agreed to. The bouncer notices the situation immediately and decides to take my side which was great because I was definitely not looking for a fight I just wanted to dance and get laid. The guy gets kicked out of the bar and myself and the girl go back inside and dance the night away. I then took her home and the rest is history.

Will definitely be going out on my own some more from now on and I definitely recommend some of you guys try it!
