I have been using OKCupid for the last 5 years or so. I have been studying seduction for longer, although more intensely the last 2-3 years. I got better at using this system mostly through trial and error, with a lot of my conclusions reinforced by other seduction experts. And yes, I F-close...about 10-15 a year.

Photos: Choose 3-5 photos, make sure you're smiling in them. Have at least one with your friends for social proof. Have at least one where you're dressed formally. Have at least one with your full body. No shirtless selfies...take a pic on the beach or at a pool, even the gym, if you want to showcase your body.

Questions: Answer 200+, 230 is the magic number (according to OKCupid Trends). Coincidentally, when I checked I had answered 229. Answer a lot of sexual questions and weigh them heavier. Avoid answering 'a little important' as much as possible. You will notice a shift with your matches if you hadn't done this before. There will be a lot more 90%+ matches, which have better odds of responding to your message.

Messages: OKCupid trends says about 200 words is the magic number and that you shouldn't spend more than 5-6 minutes reviewing and crafting a message. DO NOT MASS EMAIL. Everyone says this but it's a terrible practice. What's the rush? I live in a major city and the online dating pool certainly isn't drying up anytime soon. While you shouldn't send an amazing message with hopes of her being 'the one', you should still send an amazing message. I can talk more in-depth about this later, but take my word on this. Average response rate is 1 in 5, but good messaging will push you more towards 1 in 4. Ask for a date by the 3rd message but avoid doing it on the 1st (in general).

Profile: Don't write a novel. Don't be boring. Avoid listing a million things in your favorites section. Share short experiences/stories to communicate who you are, instead of just stating it (aka don't be boring). Don't complain or voice your frustration with dating.

Timing: Avoid messaging women on the weekend, they're usually too busy to respond and it communicates that you don't have anything better to do (even if that isn't true!). Sundays through Thursdays are the best time to message. Set up dates a few days out, no longer than a week out (or you will lose momentum and increase the likelihood of her flaking). I've noticed women usually take a few days to respond, so be patient. If they haven't answered or viewed my profile within a week of sending a message, I hide the profile.
