But essentially, when it comes to dating, you don’t want to spoil them from the get go, it essentially signals to her that she’s too good for you and you have to pay your way in. Instead, keep the nice, expensive restaurant dates for special occasions. Next time, start with the mid-tier restaurants or inexpensive dates. You want a girl to like you for who you are, not your wallet. Sure you can hook up with a dime by taking her to nice places, but to keep her, she has to feel like you’re a catch. And you can only make her feel this way, by treating her like an equal. Internally speaking, you treated her like she was out of your league so you had to overcompensate by spending more than necessary at a nice dinner. Remember, you’re the catch.

Paying for the meal is an opportunity for both to test each other, but it must happen over at least 2 dates. The frame here is that she has to win you over just as much as you have to win her over.

My policy is to pay first date without batting an eye, I will do this regardless. However, if she offers to pay she will be scoring bonus points with me, but I will still insist on paying. This is a way for me to test her, to see if she offers to pay at all. If she's trying to refuse letting me pay I will smile and say "you can pay next time", because if she insists I'm straight up just going to assume there will be a next time.

Now, second date, she better be paying, especially if she failed the test from the first date. Now you can really test her, you should not have to convince her at all to display common decency. If you have to even hint at her paying this time around for her to go ahead and do it, then she has categorically failed the test. To me that's full disqualification.

I would still pay the second date if it looks like she's about to cause a scene over it, but she's definitely dead to me after that point. She's not getting anything more out of me and I won't even be accepting any excuses or apologies, too late for that.

Obviously if you're going on a lot of first dates that go nowhere you should look into going for cheaper options, but follow the same strategy when it comes to paying for things.

Folks don't like it when I tell them to go to a coffee shop on the first date, but this is one of the reasons why I do it. I always pay, and if the date is boring I'm only out $20. The only time I end up paying over $100 for a first date is when we have to get a hotel room after.

Mate, she obviously knows that she could help pay for the drink but it is a shit test. if you flinched or had to think twice about paying for her you would have lost the test. Just use your common sense. I think you were the one who invited her to that place, and in that case it is perfectly normal to pay for everything and don't expect anything in return otherwise you become a weirdo.

Yah man, dinner are dates reserved for serious relationships not some rando you met on tinder.

Focus on an activity date or apps/drinks only on first date next time.

As far as the who pays, always assume you’re going to pay and be pleasantly surprised when they offer to contribute.

Now since you’re now assuming you’re paying, you can choose date that will provide way more Kino opportunities for minimal cost. (Ice skating, hike, drinks, dancing, etc.)
