Something I've been toying around with lately to set up dates is calling the girl instead of texting. Some things I've noticed so far:

Hot girls are inundated with texts/social media messages/online dating messages/etc etc etc, and calling is a good way to differentiate yourself from those masses. You show her that you want her enough to risk a phone call, where most guys hide behind a text.

It's much easier to convey your personality over the phone. You can influence her mood. Let's face it, if you text her, it's a pretty low commitment for her. It's totally dependent on the mood she's in when she sees it, and you know that women's emotions are generally unpredictable.

A text can easily be taken out of context.

The downside of the phone is that more often than not, from what I've found, they don't answer. So what I do is I call, if no answer, I skip the voicemail, call one more time, and if still no reply, then I'll text.

There are exceptions, if I feel REALLY confident about the rapport of the initial interaction I may rely on a text right off the bat. Also with really young girls I usually just text.

Anyone else experimented with this and how has it worked for you?
