And not only that, it's quite possible you didn't even make any missteps. It's possible that upon reflection she feels it's just not a match or your wants aren't compatible. And that's OK! Like you said you aren't always gonna have a click with every girl you engage with. That is why having a lot of irons in the fire is so important.

Bingo. Take the high road.

Oh my gosh yes! Now I know where "Strike whilst the iron is hot" is from :D

Excellent post.
That's one thing I can't stress enough; reflection. You stand to gain far more from internalizing/reflecting and finding the positive take away then you do sulking and downing on yourself.
Got out of an 8 year relationship, and upon getting out I realized almost instantly that I would fare much better if I took the time to just deal with the aftermath rather then sulk and avoid it. Sense then, I've dated a handful of women (its been about a year, and I've focused more so on self improvement then dating) and every time when things have stopped working out I have felt pretty indifferent. Bummed, sure, but I've used it as a learning experience and each time after things work out better.
I've tried to tell a few good friends this, as they constantly run in to the same sort of issues, but they don't seem to grasp the concept I guess. Oh well.

Rejection is better then regret!

Regret is a chronic condition, rejection is an acute one.

Am 29 and still get rejected since birth...
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Tell us how you meet women and things like that, maybe we can help you out bro. Your username saddens me 😔
[–]i_need_help_bro 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
yeah lol
well basically, i have hearing damage and ya know, things get complicated for me sometimes. Basically I wear implant that helps me to hear and communicate with people and basically I'm not good at anything apparently.
[–]svesrujm 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have tinnitus. I can one hundred percent relate not being able to go out to bars and clubs. Try daygame maybe? More forgiving a lot of the time.
Same dude fuck clubs anyways... Basically dating on hard difficulty. Can't hear shit, girls are guarded... Etc

Everyone gets rejected because no one is liked by everyone. Not getting rejected ever is worse than getting rejected a lot because in those instances, people aren't accepting you as a person.
[–]moezak05 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Please elbaborate on how people aren't accepting someone as a person if they're not ever getting rejected.
[–]Helmet_Icicle 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Because people are imperfect beings, and everyone has different tastes. Sure it's good to find partners who will accept your flaws, but the idea that someone will endure what they don't like just so they can forgo rejection is the definition of objectification.
[–]greenlittleman 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Real pickup is about rejection - even best of the best rejected in 70-80% cases. But difference is they are rejected from the start.

That's what's so cool about having an abundance mind set. She rejects you, you say it's cool and you hit up the next woman and ask her to come join you for drinks/movie/event/come over.

Rejection is awesome. It means you tried.
[–]surley15 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Sure doesn’t feel awesome lol

It will when you succeed, friend. Top all time posts of this subreddit will show you that you don't let others define how you look at yourself. It's easier said than done but there is something liberating about not giving a fuck about what others think of you

Where have you attempted them, and were they friends or random girls or what were the circumstances?

Five rejections, omg.. Average pua is rejected about 50 times a week, bro. And if he is good then he will get 2-5 lays.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
50 is normal?
In daygame with random approaches to hot girls 10% laid count is a very good statistic - top notch I could say. Most girls on streets are just not interested, or they lose their interest after that and wouldn't answer on your tries to get them on the date.

So firstly, place and timing is massive in dating or asking someone out. Sometimes, you and I both have long bad days that if a cute girl walked up and tried to flirt (they are incredibly subtle about things... Plus this doesn't happen much at all) that we probably wouldn't even bite on their flirt attempt. So, always keep that in mind. Secondly, I wouldn't call that a rejection with the girl who you texted and stuff. Rejection is not getting a number at all, it's all baby steps man. You are only 19, wow I'm jealous. You shouldn't give up on this at all, I'm sure you can get a good amount of girls if you just hone in on a couple different things that you are doing wrong. I would look up the all time posts of this subreddit, and check those out. They are quite awesome. I would also look up YouTube, and search Alpha M. He has fashion tips, flirting tips, and is a genuinely awesome guy. He changed the way I look at myself honestly.. He's basically a motivational dating coach on YouTube. Anyway, girls are tricky and can legitimately be interested in you but blow you off anyways... So don't take it personal and don't let others determine how you look at yourself. I hope I helped a little bit, but most importantly... You are young, and I'm sure an awesome guy. Remember that shit, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Have a great Friday night bud
To be honest, I saved your post. It's really helpful and when I'm down I'll look to this comment.
I'll definitely have to check that guy out. There is a lot I can improve on and making moves and getting caught on little stuff like this are big ones for me (anxiety and the likes) and you and OP are what I really needed right now, so this makes me feel a whole lot better.
Thank you u/Dallas_Stars_Fans
That's awesome, I'm really glad I could help! Don't hesitate to PM or reach out, remember that dating is like any other skill. We will have disappointments but the only time you fail is when you have given up. Also, as usher said: No one wants to be alone. Namaste friend 🙏

I always know in my mind that I am an awesome fun interesting cool smart person so whenever they reject me it comes across as hilarious because this foolish person in front of me just missed out on the perfect opportunity to get to know ME.
[–]Helmet_Icicle 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Feels better than regret. You need something to compare it to in which to derive relative value.
Yeah obviously it probably would've been nicer if things worked out, but it's always better to know they're not interested than to forever wonder.
[–]Mispict 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Something i figured out recently - you can't take what someone else is attracted to personally. It's not about you, it's about them and their likes and dislikes. And sexual attraction is so nuanced and fickle. It's actually a fucking miracle people get together.

OP, check out the book “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck” by Mark Manson. Fantastic read that really elaborate on the point you’re making.
You mean I shouldn't call her a bitch?
You sir, are getting savagely closer to "getting it".
Always, rejection is better than regret.

I feel shittier if I don’t approach a girl than if I do approach a girl and get rejected.

Rejection is your best friend. It's the best tool to save your time and move on to the next girl!

Thrive on rejection
[–]savvyxxl 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I generally dont mind rejection, it happens. The one reason it does bother me is because i've lived in my hometown pretty much my entire life so everyone knows eachother so when you date someone the odds are they know half your family and most of your friends and its just awkward to try to ask out people who are friends with people you know or people youve dated.. its really hard to ask out the friend of a girl you once dated.
Rejection isn't just okay, it's optimal. The majority of interactions are going to end with rejection. The sooner you find it, the sooner you can move on to the next situation. Determining incompatibility is 90% of early dating.
If you were satisfied with how you dictated yourself, then you should necessarily be satisfied with the outcome because it's likely something that wasn't under your control anyway. Also, she might have hot friends and you're only going to meet them if you keep cool.

Nah, bro. Nothing good comes from rejection. Not to be negative. These women are probably fucked left and right and you had nothing to offer except, to be considered a threat to them. You never want to be the test dummy. If you fail, its because you were the worst version of yourself.
Rejection, is not positive and it will f with you in a complicated way.
