Hey dudes,

So I feel like I need to get a king size bed if I'm going to be having two chicks in it (*fingers crossed*), but I've been absolutely dreading the shopping process because I thought it would be a huge, expensive pain in the ass. I mean, I live on the third floor of an old row house, I have no idea if a king will even fit up the stairs.

But TIL (actually, yesterday):

  • You can order a decent king size memory foam mattress from Amazon (and probably elsewhere) for $350-450 bucks, and it'll come vacuum packed and folded up into a box. Still a big heavy box, but it'll fit up stairs no problem.

  • You can get a bed foundation/frame that eliminates the need for a box spring for under $150, and it'll come in a manageable-sized box. (You can still get a box spring if you want one, and it too can come in a manageable box and you just put it together.)

So basically, if you've got $500, you can get a king size bed, and the hassle of delivery/etc. is no excuse. I mean, I haven't ordered mine just yet, but it seems like the whole thing is pretty painless.

So get one and make those threesomes happen, brothas!

Edit: Lots of people saying you don't need a king, queen size is fine, and that may be true, I just think a full size would be too cramped, especially for sleeping.
