Don’t be needy. Have your own hobbies, careers, and life outside of the relationship. Make time for those, don’t just to spend all your time on the relationship.

A successful relationship isn’t measured by how long it lasts.

Just because a relationship doesn’t end in marriage, or lasts several years, doesn’t mean it wasn’t successful. If a relationship ends, it doesn’t mean it was necessarily something you did. Maybe they weren’t right for you either. Why try to draw out a relationship if they don’t like who you are?

Your title and post info are a little confusing to me. You want to seem more seductive/alluring but then state that relationship, of whatever kind, last about a year. You want to come off as seductive/alluring then smile at a guy from time and hell understand. But guys won't play the long game because they'll think your not interested.

I'm struggling to get guys to be interested (even maintaining male friends) for long term

First, no more male friends. That in itself would be a big red flag for me.

As for obtaining commitment, here are my thoughts from dating/banging 40+ women over the years.

1) Stop going for guys way out of your league. Many women are delusional abut their physical attractiveness. Sure, I'll fuck a fattie or an uggo on the DL, but if I'm going to commit she would have to be at least a 7 in my book. Check your expectations.

2) Positive vibes only. No nagging, negativity, or disrespectful behavior. Hanging out with a chick should be a mood booster, not a downer. Obviously everyone has bad days, but I won't stand for it being taken out on me. I have a zero tolerance policy for this BS.

Feminine charm is a lost art. I want to be told how smart, funny, handsome, and well-endowed I am, even if it isn't objectively true.

3) No bossiness. "Look, Your Worshipfulness, let's get one thing straight. I take orders from just one person: me." -Han Solo

4) Total loyalty. No one-on-one hanging out with male "friends." No contact with exes. No posting lots of slutty pics on social media. No commenting on other men's attractiveness. No weird celebrity crushes. And do not ever compare me to another man in an unfavorable light.

5) Genuine Desire. Fuck this "hard to get" nonsense. Hard to get = not that interested. Relationships should be effortless, and that's only going to happen if she's madly in love with me. My most recent girlfriends messaged me almost every day to touch base; responses to my texts came within hours, if not immediately.

6) Nurturing attitude. I'd like to have kids one day, so I'm watching how she behaves around children. Cold and awkward = no long term potential.

7) Sex. I personally don't wait more than one or two dates to have sex. Any longer than that, and I assume she simply isn't physically aroused by me. "Good sex" imo has nothing to do with experience, crazy kinks, or wild acrobatics; to me, good sex = passion and uncontrollable lust. Some of the best sex I ever had was with a virgin. See point #5.

I could go on, but that suffices for now. Basically this all boils down to be hot and feminine.

As a male, I’m just going to write based on my own experience.

The initial attraction is pretty simple; It’s based on looks, how you present yourself (dress / makeup / etc), and body language. Do I find you attractive? Do you seem approachable?

If I’m looking for anything more than a ONS then comes the 2nd phase for the next days / dates. This phase will really set how our relationship is going to be. Are we sexually compatible or just friends? Do you have an interesting life that I want to be a part of? Do I have to carry our relationship or will you contribute? Does it feel easy and fun to hang out?

If all seems good, then it’s all about creating memories together. Of course I would keep seeing friends or possible GF-material if we have great memories together. If you struggle keeping long term friends or partners, then try to find out what they like and do it with them while being positive and have fun doing it. If most of what they like is something you dislike, then you’re simply not THAT compatible.

I have a lot of friends that will most likely never be close friends, simply because we value different things in life.

Be interesting. Sex appeal will not keep a man interested for the long term. That's how you get one, not how you keep one. Be willing to connect with someone on a deeper level beyond the physical.

I think it would really help for you to know why these relationships end. I agree with what another person said on this thread about relationships ending after 1 year doesn’t mean it’s your fault or that it was unsuccessful. However, I think being able to initiate a mature conversation when a relationship ends not only will enhance your communication skills in the long run, but also will give you closure/peace of mind that you weren’t the issue. Or maybe you were, then you will know what to change. I don’t think I’ve ever had a relationship (friendship included) end where I had no idea why. If it wasn’t already clear, I would respectfully ask. Based on their reasoning and other things you know about them, you can decipher whether it’s a them problem or a you problem.

Now on to attracting people:

You might hate this answer but trust me it works. Focus on yourself as much as you possibly can. And do things for YOU. Start developing the daily habits you’ve been dying to implement for months now. Start crossing off things on your summer fun list. Start tackling your personal physical/mental health goals. And do it for yourself. That is when you really start attracting people. The reason is because after doing these things and consciously knowing that you did it for yourself the entire time, you will exude a level of confidence, happiness, and healthy glow that I’m not sure can be achieved otherwise. Plus, like someone else said yes physical attractiveness (which I’m sure you don’t lack) the first thing people notice, but you can be the most gorgeous person in the world and if your ENERGY is not attractive to people, nobody will pay you any mind. With the things you will achieve from focusing on yourself that I mentioned, your energy becomes almost untouchable. I kid you not, the amount of people that want to fuck w you just because you seem untouchable is UNREAL. It’s psychology it’s like the whole “play hard to get/allow them to chase you” mentality but I don’t really think you need to specifically play hard to get as I honestly think that whole game is kinda stupid. Just focus on you and people are going to want to get to know you and understand you and find out what you’re up to a lot more than before.

Another thing is I’m not sure how social/open or a person you are, but a lot of people pick up on this. I have some guy friends that r super social and will approach you and try to pick u apart and see if they can befriend you even if your shy, but most guys won’t even try if you seem not interested. Smile, be friendly, chat up a convo here and there when the opportunity arises, but don’t go out of your way. Once you subtly let them know that they can come to you, let them. (But also if you guys start getting close, have your guard up to whatever degree you like because a lot of dudes will act like they r into u just for sex and once they see that’s not happening they leave and u prob don’t want to 100% confide in a man that u can’t trust. If u sense this is the case, you should make sure a talk about what u guys want occurs early on.)

Another tip is if you consider yourself feminine, embrace it as much as you can. You can find more info about divine femininity online. It’s a super deep subject but it’s a thing many men go crazy for. HOWEVER. If you are the type of woman that likes embracing their masculine side, or likes to have a balance straight in the middle. Please please please do that!!! What looks best on you and what attracts the people YOU subconsciously want and are compatible with is the person you identify with deep down to your core. So when they say “just be yourself”. It’s true! But you can always determine what that is and enhance it. I’ve always considered myself very feminine, but I felt it was blocked off for a few years. I’ve allowed it to open up again. Feminine is deeper than just dressing nice and what not. Sure that can play a part, but again it’s energy. The way you act, the way you embrace your sexuality, the way you carry yourself, show compassion to others, etc. there’s also a ton of body language tricks you can use to attract people and show you’re interested.

Also another tip on just forming friendships and relationships in general, be selective. Are you the type of person that avoids all the red flags and befriends anyone (nothing criticizing, I’ve done this plenty of times. But it may hurt you in the long run and you may have more short lasting relationships)? If you are, try to ask yourself why you’re forming a relationship w that person. Do you feel you genuinely connect with them? Do you have something in common? Do you guys have natural chemistry? Or r they just someone to talk to in the moment and the fire will eventually go out? I used to get along with everyone and let them into my life and only the ones I’ve been selective with are the ones still standing. Also, selectiveness shows as well. I once had a guy tell me that I seem like a selective person when it comes to choosing what guys to be with and that he found that attractive. I think it has something to do with them seeing a prize that not everyone can get, and maybe they can’t either but they’re sure as hell more enticed to try to play for it.

To summarize:

Dos: -focus on yourself and what makes you be the best version of yourself and do it for YOU -Find who you are within and embrace that energy the best you can -be open to making new connections and show it -communicate at all times! If you want to start a FWB, that should be communicated early on. If you solely want a relationship that should also be communicated early on. When things end, don’t be afraid to communicate about why in a non confrontational matter. IMO, growing is the sexiest thing u can do. A person who is continuously growing and open to learn about their short comings and doing something about them attracts me in a heart beat. Plus it’s rare. -look up body language tricks to show someone you’re interested/attract someone. -be selective in who you allow to be in your life.

Donts: -be closed off (unless ur senses tell u to be towards a particular person then by all means trust ur gut) -try to do specific things to appeal to a person. I subconsciously did this once because I was so desperate to gain their attraction/attention. I’m pretty sure the lack of genuinity showed because a few months later I stopped caring and acted like my self and he immediately became attracted to me and we developed a very close friendship. -know your worth and don’t always take the blame when things don’t work out. Assess the situation. If you did somethings wrong, hold yourself accountable. If you didn’t, don’t let your sense of self worth be depleted. Hold your head high and continue doing the things you were doing for yourself anyway. This is why doing things for yourself always is important because if the relationship ends, your whole life doesn’t change because everything you did was for yourself in the first place.

I hope this helps, if you want other more specific tips I’m happy to share what I know from my experience. Also I’m not a pro and you can either like or hate these tips, I’ve just gone through a ton of amazing and also shitty friendships and connections and lots of trial and error. Hope this helped!

Tbh if i find a woman attractive thats enough for me to want to talk to them long term maybe the guys you were with did not find you sexually attractive maybe hit the gym or wear more thirst trappin cloths like yoga pants/shorts to get mens attention soon enough one that finds you attractive will approach you
