A lot of times, people think theyre giving advice but theyre really projecting their fears onto you. Im sure his intentions are good but you shouldnt let someone elses words cloud your judgment. If approaching is really something that you want to do, simply tell him “thank you for your concern but Im willing to take the risk. if it blows up on me, its my own fault” and do your thing!

You could be a 10/10 as a man and still have to approach if you want a 9-10/10. Especially if you don't have a huge social circle or dont contain significant status. Approaching is fun as fuck and you'll get laid a lot if you do it. Particularly on campus, just endless options
