This is your ex, right? She KNOWS what she’s doing. She’s fucking with you. She wants your non-sexual attention and is banking on her getting it for free. You obviously want her sexual attention so you have two options: low risk and high risk. Low risk is to just tell her that you made plans with someone else. If she still has feelings for you this will twist her and she’ll realize you’re in demand and start treating you like you’re a catch (i.e., she’ll stop messing with your mind and communicate clearly). High risk is to keep your plans, but invite her over to your place first with the intention of getting your sexual attention first... THEN you can give her your non-sexual attention. She’ll know what you’re doing and either play along or she won’t. In any case you’ll know her end game and she’ll respect you for staying true to yourself and being authentic with your desires bc that’s what a man does.

This definitely would’ve been a hard one for me back in the day (where I’m from, “buddy” is an unfriendly and demeaning term equivalent to calling someone “kid”), but in that context, I wouldn’t overthink it.
