A few weeks ago I went on an unbelievable date with a girl I knew from high school. We had such great chemistry, stayed out from 7 until 2am, had great sex afterwards (and in the morning), and I really felt like it was gonna be the beginning of something.

A few days later she messaged me saying she was hung up on someone and didn't feel it was the right time. I've been in the same situation and rate that she was up front cos break ups are shit and rebounding can be messy with feelings hurt. She said she would be open to something in the future, and that she had a fantastic time (I really believe this to be true).

She had so many qualities I look for in someone and have found myself thinking about her a lot over the past couple weeks. I didn't reply to her final message and haven't spoken to her since.

I would never usually consider messaging a girl again / replying to a story after being rejected. Although I firmly believe it wasn't a rejection of me, it was a rejection of getting close to someone else when she wasn't ready.

Is it desperate to strike up new conversation with her and how often are excuses like that actually legit? She's a hella actress if she wasn't actually into me!
