I use texting to set up the date and text them a few days later to say hey and make sure they're doing good. After that i wait til the day before the date to make sure their plans haven't changed.

I think that might be what the other link in comments days but i cba to read it.

I once read that texting is like using sticky notes in real life. You wouldn't use them to have a conversation, only to get things done. I.E. "Pick up more milk" or "Come to the sullylicious love den at xxx time" Use that same theory for your text game. Texting is for setting up meetings and dates, not small talk and other shit. Only text as conversation when a girl is turning into a serious love interest and not just a hook up.

Personally I hate calling. I usually don't answer unless it's my mom or best friends... never a girl if I've known her less then like three months. It's just awkward to talk on the phone, IMO. Might be different for you and the girls you're taking to though

Man, you sound exactly like me, it's as if you're my twin. I have the same fucking problem, it's annoying as hell!

My friends who literally cannot pick up girls in person have amazing text game, while I always pickup girls and have killer dates but my text game is weak as fuck!

I do, too. It's really difficult to win in texting. There's massive downsides, and very little upsides. I tell girls exactly what you just told us:

I don't like texting. You can't tell people's tone, their body language, and overall what they actually mean. My wittiness and sarcasm don't carry well into text.

Suggest FaceTime. It's absolutely fantastic. And girls love it too, after they try it. Yes, you have to block off time for a 45 minute FaceTime call; you can't carry on that conversation over the course of your doing other things, so texting has convenience on its side. But FaceTime is a massive improvement.

I used to be bad at texting too. Tinder really helped me with that. I used to over think everything and would never know what to say. Just relax and say what comes to mind. A little alcohol does wonders as well.

I have the same exact problem. It seems that a majority of girls my age prefer to converse over text which is weird to me, but just use text to a minimum. Use it to say quick things or set up a date and that's it. Save the flirting and game and all that for in-person. Text should just be a convenient way to make plans.

I agree that texting is a lot more difficult, but one of the main things I have learnt is that you must keep the conversation going.

Make sure that each of your texts contains a prompt or question to elicit a response from her.

Also it helps to be more expressive, e.g. exclamation marks and emoji!

You're onto a winner if you get responses quickly. Maintain that conversation and moment and respond quickly as well. This is what you want, the girl is bored, maybe lonely, and you are the distraction and fun.

my experience:

use text to setup dates set up date and stop texting because i hate texting anyway. date day comes and she flakes ignoring that we had planned a meetup

happens all the fucking time. i really dont know how to get past this shit. it's like if you don't text between the day you set up the date and the date day itself, they just lose interest completely like this.

Okay, everything about this stuff is different for every person, but in this regard I almost always say the same thing: take text game, roll it into a ball, and toss it into the trash can. The whole point of learning this stuff is to make your interpersonal experiences better, be it for sex or just having more fun with folks. With that in mind, I think it is silly to try to advance any relationship through text. So many things are important to interactions, such as body language, tone of voice, and reaction time. You lose ALL of these in text. Unless you're some texting guru, I can only see texting keeping you at the same point you're at when you began, or hurting things. Long story short, ditch texting as a means of continued communicating and use it for what it actually is: a way to send a message. Make that message "Let's get coffee this Tuesday after work."

Texting is just another form of communication and as with speech, most forget that just like face to face speech, it also depends how and when you say things. As a general rule initially avoid things like 'lol' smiley faces and kisses at the end of texts. Seek out 'The ultimate guide to text and phone game' - by Braddock. It really helped my texting game 100fold, in fact it has been invaluable. (I am currently looking for something newer to incorporate instant messaging and social networks if anyone reading this knows of such a resource please let me know!)

Anyways I found that in the UK girls do not respond so well to the Americanisms so it was rare I was able to use a lot of the examples given in that book, but it forced my hand to invent similar themed texts and I now understand the mentality behind when and why a woman texts you and exactly how to act on it. Here is a short excerpt from the opening chapter:

Let’s say you met a woman through mutual friends last night and you only had a 30 minute conversation and you can tell that she is only moderately attracted. A bad idea would be to text her something like: “Nice meeting you last night. Wish we could’ve spent more time together.” This is a terrible text to send in the early phases of a relationship. You are emotionally reaching far too hard with a woman you have only known for a short period of time.

here is an example of a good text:

Let’s say you both traded funny stories about your dogs when you first met. She mentioned owning an English Bulldog. Texting something like this to get the ball rolling would be much more ideal: “What up dork? Just saw a guy walking an English bulldog. Wow… That poor thing was hideous! He had a face only a mother could love LoL. How’s your day? -Mike”

Anyways I think knowing how to text is a great tool to have in the belt and disagree with people who say its 'bad game' or whatever. I have successfully set up dates via text alone so I see no reason why that could be a bad thing. Good luck sir!
