Text vs. Call

People under 30 or so just don't use phones for calling any more. Phones are for texting and internet.

If you're into older people, call. If you're into younger people, definitely text. Calling won't make you "alpha", it would make you her dad.

This is an interesting topic. For a long time I thought that calling was the best idea. It shows balls and it is a risk to actually call a chick. But I've had more bad responses than good ones. I've had girls deny the call then text me back saying "why are you calling me?" I was thrown off by this.

After setting up a couple of dates I actually asked a few of the girls what they thought when they saw that I was calling? 1 out of 5 thought it was different and cool. All 4 others thought it was weird and wasn't sure what the fuck to do.

Really? Calling a girl is intimidating? I still like to call a chick to set stuff up but I think it might be better after at least a first date. Calling for setting up a first date is probably isn't the best idea. Keep her comfortable by just texting. After there is some rapport then you can call them.

This is just my opinion/experience. I'm interested in others opinions on this.

Finally I can answer a question here! Calling. I always call to make any arrangements. I do that all the time because I was sick of spending 10-20 mins on something that can be done in 2-5 mins. I didn't have the "alpha" aspect in my mind, I just don't like wasting time.

I prefer to text. Meeting people in person is the most important thing; asking them out is purely a logistical thing which is easier done via text. It is also extremely difficult to screw up via text whereas you may come off weird or awkward on the phone depending on your phone skills. The attraction should have already been built where her answer (yes) is already known; if you need to build attraction to get her to come out with you, I guess calling is better, but you are probably screwed anyway.

This always works for me. I like to first text the girl and ask her if she is phone-able. This gives her time to answer if she is busy and you dont get ignored if you call.

calling is better hands down. verbal communication and directness will do wonders vs just a few words on her screen. you want to be the thing she's thinking about, and actually talking to her gets it done.

Calling for the win. I think there is such a large disconnect that, in the past I have noticed an evident awkwardness when meeting that person. As we got so used to communicating through impersonal, written words, meeting in person was too much of a jump. If that makes sense.

Plus, it can be tough to read/write emotion thus; flirting/banter is more difficult and easily misunderstood.

Calling is better if she pick up your call. You do not have to wait or stare at your phone for a whole day, if the girl is not interested in you but does not have the politeness of giving a direct "No, I am not interested!" either. That being said, girls which are in 20-30 age group likes texting way more than calling. If the girl you are interested is a texter, you may opt for texting.

Get them to look forward to your texts. If she's initiating texts, then it's time to throw in a few calls here and there. Don't overstay your welcome on the phone, always try to be interesting over the phone and end it before even a hint of boredom arises. I usually see if she's texting around 8:30-10pm then call, it's when something stupid is on tv and she's reminded how lonely she is without you.

If you're 25 calling is probably weird, and borderline impolite, because it's expecting the person to drop whatever they're doing right this second to talk to you.
