Keep it light and fun and text her every couple of days. You're not at the point in the relationship where you're attractive enough to wonder what she's doing yet. Yeah it's crazy to hear that, but that's how it is. Right now it's about creating value and showing her you're someone she needs to hang out with. Instead send her memes especially if it's related to something you talked about with her. Or you can also tell her something about your day that was hilarious or interesting.

Depends on a lot of factors, generally i will definitely text to like you said keep things warm, like every other day and also i try to create a frame where she will be texting me more and waits for my replies and if that doesn't work i will go for a minimum of like every couple of days. I avoid deep conversations and keep things light and fun. Not that i think that "hows your day going" fucked things up for you, but i generally don't like those value asking texts. I rather send a stupid meme of a dog and say look its you or something light and fun. Just wait 1-2 days and send another text and don't let her feel that you were obsessing over this, just ignore it and send some "spontanious" value her way in a couple of days.. Don't be like "hey are we still up for the date??" I think ofcourse depending on the girl, usually it's a good thing to at least on the day of the date have some small talk before to put her at ease and or spike her emotions a bit again and show that you are fun, cool, and not emotional, because after 4 days of radio silence all kinds of thoughts and doubts might creep up on her and she might be scared or just not feel that emotional spike connection with you anymore.

While it's never a problem to text someone before a date (everyone's communication style is different) there's definitely a few things that you can do here to help out.

As others have said, try your best to make dates within a couple days
- I know you said plans didn't work out, but if you can, a couple to 3 days is the best. Again, generally speaking
- It's difficult to maintain interest that long and people have other people interested in them, lives to live and plans with a stranger aren't gonna stick when life happens.
Calling a girl "cutie" or other pet names, unless you've already established it, is generally not appealing.
- It's like objectifying a woman before you even meet her. Or commenting on the appearance of the girl you just matched with on Tinder. You matched with her cause you both think each other are hot, you don't need to state it. You said she blushed when you said it the first time, but that's also in a different context. If you're gonna ask her something, just ask it. Calling her cutie every time you message her is gonna get played out, especially when you haven't met.
Small talk is irrelevant
- Only talk to someone if you actually have something to say.
- Making banal small talk is exactly that. Banal and boring.
- As a guy below has said, send her something funny or some kinda meme, or if something during your day that sparks a message to her, send one. But don't just ask her "How's your day?". Women want something attention grabbing, thats funny, provocative or otherwise.

There's no be all, end all here. The best laid plans can get fucked up too. But just be confident, don't worry about trying to be nice to her all the time, you have to keep her attention and asking her "how her day is?" when she doesn't know you doesn't always keep attention.

I think that text was a mistake but I can't think of a better alternative off the top of my head.

Generally I would say, if you feel the need to text her it should be something where you come off kind of bossy or teasing. But on Thursday before a Saturday date is it really necessary?

Ah. I have been in a communications situation very similar to this (not dating though). Think of it generally. Monday: in 5 days I will see her. I want to ensure success. Ok. You got that down. But maybe you should have said something like "hey name (name is very important to use), I'm very excited for Saturday. I'm starting to get impatient. (You can change that last line to anything that you find appropriate.) The point is, make it natural. Of course it is important to establish proper communications. However, she didn't answer, so there are two possibilities: 1) she isn't near her phone/didn't see or hear a message 2) she is nervous about the "cutie" in your message; she doesn't want to answer Depending on how well you know her, you can decide what the case is. Has she been nervous lately? Was she hesitant during date planning time? Or is she not glued (flex taped) to her phone, unlike the average millennial (I assumed millennial). If it is case 1, don't worry. She will see it soon. If you think that it is case 2, change her impression of you during the date. Using her name is very important. Stay away from odd nicknames, such as thicc, sexy, ~~sugarlips~~ (killed me), etc. Do literally anything you want to her, as long it is natural to you. Thank you for listening to this Ted Talk.
