So, I'm new to the whole cold approach game, it's been about a month and I usually do it during events on the weekend. Recently I was tallying up the numbers and Instagrams I've got over the course of the month and the responses I've got from them.

Here are some lines I used which have worked:

  1. Have you taken videos, let's exchange Instagrams so we can share it with each other: This was my most common way of getting Instagrams because I'm doing my cold approaches during events and music festivals. I usually got a quick response where the girl sent all her videos but, the conversation died after that. This is a great way to get good videos for your Instagram stories but, fails to establish a proper connection with girl.

  2. Oh! You are into whatever interest or hobby let's exchange Insta: This one is useless, it generally makes you a follower and gets superficial responses, if any. This is the easiest way to get an Instagram though.

  3. Let's connect: Short. Simple. To the point. This gets me the least amount of number closes and Instagrams but, gets a girl to genuinely talk to you. Though I'm afraid to use it too early into the conversation so, that's probably something I need to get over.

I realised that everytime I got an Instagram or number with an ulterior motive the conversation just died rapidly but, when I told them I wanted to connect I generally got a genuine response.
