Why does it have to be a battle between the sexes?

I don't think it has to be. But our culture's clumsy attempts at social engineering of the mating process has often reduced it to this.

I dislike the fact that so many come into pickup out of some sort of hatred towards women.

You may dislike it, but you see a phenomenon, and it's better to understand it than to just hope it will go away.

To understand, it's important to realize that anger != hatred. They are two very distinct feelings.

So what is all the anger about? Well, we already understand this. Think of the term AFC. What does the F stand for? Frustrated. Frustration == anger.

So why are these angry men angry? Not because they can't "get women" or even because they can't control their sex lives. The below-average ones, the people with social phobias, they aren't angry. They realize that their social inability is their problem.

No, the angry ones are the ones with average or above average social skills. They know their abilities are not the problem. They believe that their problem has been imposed on them from outside... and they are right.

The normal, healthy man wants to act like PUAs tell him he ought. He knows this already. He was born knowing it. It is natural to him. He wishes to approach women assertively, to be straightforward about his desire for sex, to act as a person of value, rather than a supplicant.

But he has been told that this is what he must not do. The fear, the sometimes crippling, all-encompassing fear, he experiences is not of "not getting the girl"... because he already doesn't have the girl. How scared could he be of that?

It is fear of social censure, of humiliation, of reprisals for being the "bad" man, which is precisely what feminism teaches of the man who is natural and uninhibited. Seddit doesn't hate women... but the women's movement certainly hates seddit, and everything seddit stands for.

The "AFC" is frustrated and angry because he has been constrained from birth against what would otherwise come naturally to him, because he has been asked to play the mating game, not with a lousy hand, but with no cards at all. He feels shame at being aggressive, because he has been taught that it is wrong, and he feels shame at not being aggressive, because he knows it instinctively that it is a failure of manhood.

In short, he is not defective, or weak, by nature. He is not a coward. He has, instead, been misled. By a philosophy that cares nothing for him, and by the hubris of academics who thought they could reorder the world and do a better job of it, and by an entire generation who listened to them. And it has gotten worse. I'm less long in the tooth than some, but I am old enough to tell you that the AFCs of 25 years ago were much less frustrated, and much less chump, than those of today. Things were not always thus.

When you place someone in a situation where he has no power, he fears and resents those who do, especially when they wield it against him. Empower him, and that resentment will fade.

The men'srights subreddit represents awareness of the problem, without possession of the solution. Seddit represents, in some ways, the solution without knowledge or understanding of the problem.
