Hey guys. I took your advice. Today I went to the club and approached 4 women cold. The first two I started talking to. The first one was named Emma. We had a good conversation until her boyfriend came back. Oof.

The second one we had a decent conversation until her boyfriend came back too. Oof. 0/2.

The third one flat out rejected me. Laughed. 0/3. That one hurt.

The fourth one grabbed me and we made out on the dance floor. She took my hand, led me to a wall and we kissed more there. I asked her if she’d like to come back to my place. She said no. I told her I had an extra sofa too and it was super close by. She said no.

I respected that and got her contacts. I asked if we could see each other again and she said that it probably wouldn’t happen. But that’s ok.

That’s ok. Thank you all for your advice and helping psyching me up. I got rejected 3.5 times today and it was ok. Life is ok. I had a great time and didn’t fear the rejection. Thank you.

EDIT: Here are a couple things that helped me.

  • There was a post before about having a trigger word like "fuck it". That was mine. Before going out, I tried to envision myself in these positions, feeling nervous like usual, and in my mind just saying "fuck it" and going on with it. Then I tried imagining getting rejected in the worst way possible and saying "fuck it" and just brushing it off. It seemed to work. Whenever I saw a girl that looked interesting, I just said "fuck it" and the next thing I knew, I was trying to talk to her.

  • I tried to be observant and tried to find positive things about everyone. If someone was wearing something nice, I just went up and told them. No expectations, guys or girls. There was a fellow that booked a table and was doing shots. I asked a girl what his name was and I went up to him and wished him a good birthday and ended up doing shots with him. Eventually I felt like I just became a guy that talked to everyone which made things a lot easier. Trying to find positive things about people also probably made me seem like happy fun person to be around. I remember other times when I didn't adopt this attitude, after some rejections I probably became bitter, and no one wants to hang out with a bitter person.

  • After rejection I tried to laugh. I tried my hardest to put it in the cosmic perspective. We're on a rock floating in space and we're all going to die anyways, and I just faced down my fears and talked to a girl that rejected me. Wow. I did feel quite brave, and there is something funny in the whole thing, so why not just laugh it off? Somehow having a good laugh at it and being able to share it with you guys made it feel like a positive memory. I felt like a got something positive out of it and that doesn't feel bad at all!
