I have a question for you guys that have lived internationally or speak multiple languages.

I've lived in the US my entire life (speak English as my first language of course), but I also speak some Spanish because I did a couple semesters in college in South America and studied the language from middle school through college. I'd say I'm pretty fluent, but by no means perfect. I can communicate about most topics easily but I don't really know how to use slang and my vocabulary is relatively limited. I've had many, many conversations in Spanish with everyone from friends to professors to family (my aunt's husband is from Puerto Rico), but never with a girl I'm interested in.

So here's the deal. The other day I matched with a very cute girl on Bumble. She's a Mexican citizen and works at the Mexican consulate in my city. I said in my profile that I speak Spanish, so she messaged me in Spanish and we kept messaging back and forth in Spanish. After a few messages I asked her out for a drink and she said yes. We never exchanged any messages in English but I know she speaks it at least a little because her bio is in English.

So what's my best option for what language to use on our date? On one hand, if I go with Spanish I'm thinking that will be a little impressive because not many American guys can actually have a conversation in Spanish. Plus she might appreciate meeting a guy she can talk to in her first language. But the truth is, I'm a lot more witty and confident in English. I've been on enough first dates that I don't really get nervous anymore, but I've also never gotten a girl to sleep with me speaking anything other than English.

For all you guys who have dated internationally - what do you usually do? Your first language or hers? I realize I can switch back and forth but I didn't know if people had strong opinions on which works better. Any advice is much appreciated!
