Whenever something happens, you can either interpret it in your mind positively or negatively.

The 'thing' that happened here is that you feel you have been 'rejected' (in a very loose sense of the word) by a woman you fancy being into a dude that is nothing like you.

Since you admit to being jealous, you have obviously decided to interpret this fact negatively. My advice to you is to try to make every situation in your life something that you interpret positively.

Study this skater guy. Figure out what he has that you don't have. I'm not a fan of the "fuck that bitch, find someone else, plenty of fishes..." mentality, because I feel it encourages men to take the easy way out. Real men don't take the easy way out.

Maybe all it takes is a new haircut and an hour of skateboard practice every day after school to get that girl to notice you. Who knows. Whats the wost that can happen?

This has actually happened to me before.

People are claiming you're actually into her, don't realise etc. etc. It's not necessarily the case in my opinion.

Upon reflection, I've came to the conclusion that now and again it's more that I'm unhappy that:

Maybe she actually prefers that guy? Maybe she thinks he's better/sexier/funnier than me?
It's not fair that he and she seem to be happier than me.
I can't consider her Plan F anymore.

It doesn't mean you're into them. You've just lost some fuel for your ego. This usually happens with borderline girls I'd consider fucking but not dating -- I suppose it's the peril of effectively turning the tables and leading girls on. This is why jealousy plotlines work on girls (and I think they feel this much stronger than you or I). If you'd solidly rejected her, you probably wouldn't be feeling this. By not doing so you leave yourself open to jealousy and doubt by comparing yourself to the guy they eventually shack up with.

The more it happens the less you care, however (until it's oneitis etc)..
