I understand that everyone is different, so there isn’t really a strict “rule” we can follow. But this is something I keep thinking about based on the dates I’ve been going on lately, and also from things I see happening to friends or people I know.

Let’s say you go on a first date on a Friday and it ends pretty well. On Saturday you’re still exchanging some casual messages. By Tuesday the conversation naturally fades and you stop texting.

Then on Friday you message her again to see if she’d like to meet up, but the vibe has changed. If she replies, the messages are dry, or sometimes she just leaves you on read. For many people, that’s where it ends.

I’ve been in situations like this where I ended up texting again weeks or even months later, and the person responded positively again. Sometimes we even ended up scheduling a second date after that.

So I’m curious how you see it from your side. Do you think it’s necessary to keep texting so it doesn’t look like you’re ghosting them? Or is it better to only text when you want to set up another date?
