So describe with a lot of detail how excited you are about it, the feeling of euphoria you get when you do something you enjoy, the suspense when you don't know whats gonna happen with a patient and the relief you feel when it goes well, the tears of joy when someone trusts you...

They care about the emotional aspect of your experience with your job. So that's what you need to talk about. Not the science, or the procedures, or the medical jargon, but the feelings.

So you cannot just be like I feel good or bad, or sad. That's too vague and brief... You need to use metaphors, describe the feelings with large detail, make her understand the feeling with more down to earth precision.

Women often bait you into having the exact kind of logical conversation that turns them off to test your competency at managing female nature and make sure you are preselected. This is one of those tests that they give completely on purpose.

Always remember that women not only are unresponsive to logic...they actively take offense to it because it keeps them from escaping this reality into the realm of emotion.

You don’t need to go into details (unless they ask), just say your field/activity, and maybe add what you like about it or your career plans.

This is basic social skill which applies to all.

For example, I work in IT, which isn’t a great conversation fuel, so I don’t describe my bare activity, but I talk about the fact that I work from home which, instead, can be a better conversation fuel.

I would recommend the following:

First of all, prepare a few possible flirty/funny lines that you can use to deliver your profession. Such as "I'm a doctor, actually. I specialize on broken hearts. Broken a few myself, so I'm kind of an expert." This one isn't really funny, but you get what I'm saying. Play a comic situation where you are doing something cool and admired by the ladies. I recommend preparing and memorizing at least 3 answers like this. Then practice at saying them with a playful look when you're asked, assess the reaction, and keep the ones that make them giggle.

Then, you might wanna break off the emotional distance that fun creates to actually connect with her by sharing your values. So that would go like "Yeah so since I was a little child, I wanted to be a doctor. I've always been extremely curious about the way the human body works, and relieving people of their pain is a tremendously satisfactory experience. I had a relative who died of cancer, so this is a calling for me."

Evidently, I completely made this up. I recommend you to actually discuss the true reasons that drove you to be a doctor. Emphasize your personal values and relevant life events, and don't make it too long. By doing this, you're giving her a chance to feel identified with some of the values that you are showcasing. And again, I recommend you to assess their reactions and A/B test different stories (while keeping them 100% honest, just putting emphasis on different points).

If she asks you about specifics, you can say something like "I don't wanna bore you with long names and unappealing illnesses. what do YOU do, actually?"

Anyways, that's what I'd do. Don't sweat it though. You have it really well, to be honest. You'd have to be a billionaire investor that shelters abandoned puppies to be able to boast of a more attractive profession. So be proud of it my man.
