You’re generally either one or the other and stuck with it. It seems to be mostly about your facial shape and features. Cute works just as well though so who cares.

I think if you portray confidence it would help. Take control, stand tall, chin up, that sort of stuff. I can’t speak for everyone, but hearing the word “hot” seems more adult, whereas “cute” seems childish.

Need to grow your muscles, show more skin in your chest by unbuttoning your shirt, wear sleeveless vests, shape your eyebrows with a cut through the middle of them, and make sure your haircut gives you a more square look in the face with a nice low fade.

No idea how old you are but either way, I suppose it’s partly appearance based and partly attitude based.

As someone else said, you can try to improve your appearance a bit more - facial hair, put on some muscle (work out), improve your dressing style to go with the above (all of them complement each other).

Also, I suppose if you are a “nice” guy, it’s possible you get called cute. So may be, try to change that. Prioritise yourself, don’t go out of your way to do something for someone unless they are an important person in your life, etc..

I think it’s about how you project yourself. If you come off shy and nervous you will be viewed as cute, if you come off as confident and sure of yourself and what you have to offer you will be perceived as hot. (don’t overdo it, then you will look egotistical.)
