How to dress Your goal in dressing for the club is to be dressed nicer than everyone there, but also in a unique and eccentric way so you don’t look like a boring accountant. At the same time, you don’t want to look ridiculous or like you are trying too hard. And whatever you wear, you have to feel comfortable and confident in it. How you FEEL like you look is way more important than how you actually look.
How to pick the club The best way to pick your club is to google "TMZ nightclub and YOUR CITY" to see what the hot clubs are. Then go to the Facebook page of that club and see if they’ve posted any pictures to see what the clientele is. Then check the night to make sure you’re not going on mariachi night or gay night or something. Otherwise, you need to find the "club area" in your city - oftentimes cities will have an area with a bunch of clubs and bars. That's a safer bet than just going to some random club cuz if the random club sucks then you're stuck there but if you go to the "club area" you have other options. If you google random clubs in your city check them out on google maps to see if there are other clubs nearby. If there are, it's a safer bet.
You absolutely must plan your night out and know what clubs you are going to in advance. I’ve seen tons of people have their nights ruined because they went to a club that was empty, or played music they couldn’t stand, or had a dress code, or that they couldn’t get into. The last thing you want to be doing is waiting in some long ass line at 1:30 AM because your plans sucked. I like to have a list of 3 clubs as back-ups in case the main club I was going to sucks or there is a private party or something. You also need back up clubs so you can take the girls somewhere else – moving around from place to place is key in the PUA game.
I can’t really explain it, but there are some clubs and some nights it is just really easy to pull. I remember there was a club in New York called Butter that had a Monday night party and I would always pull super hot girls from. Other clubs I would barely get anything. When I lived in New York, I could tell you that the very top clubs (Boom Boom Room, Provocateur), were mostly socialites and fashionistas trying to look cool. A lot of these people weren’t even really drinking or having fun. At the mid-tier clubs (Pink Elephant, the Griffin) the people were a lot more normal and into having fun. It was a lot easier to pull there. You need to scope out your scene and pick a club that you enjoy and that has a good demographic.
Pregaming Ideally, you will pregame somewhere before the club and make a few approaches to get warmed up. In a lot of cities there are “pre-clubs” (bars, lounges, etc...) right near the main clubs where people hang out before they go to the crazy club later. These “pre-clubs” are a great places to approach women because they a lot less loud and crowded, and because its early in the night the women are a lot more receptive and open to meeting people. The best way to do it is to go to a pre-club around 10 PM, start chatting with some girls, and then invite them to the club later. You’ve already set up a mini-date. There are a lot of girls that want to go out and have fun, but they have no idea where to go so they end up these shitty little bars – and you’re exactly the kind of guy they want to meet. The downside of a pre-club is that it’s a lot weirder if you are alone. The best situation in a pre-club is to go with a group of friends, and then leave and go approach the girls by yourself. If the girls dig you, they come and hang out with your friends and you all go to the club together.
They key to these interactions is not being overly eager to get them to come with you. I don’t usually drop where I’m going next until like halfway through the conversation. Then I might casually say “yeah my friends are going to XXX club after this” without even inviting them. Then later in the conversation I will invite the girls and we will walk over together.
How to get in
Please note that this only applies to certain clubs in big cities. 99% of the clubs let anybody in
In a lot of big cities (NY, Miami, LA), the best clubs are hard to get into. Guys usually can’t get unless you’re buying a table with bottle service, you’re with like 10 hot girls, you look super cool and unique, or you’re with a celebrity. I assume you have none of those things, so here are some tips as to how you can get in. Please note, however, that there are some clubs that just won’t ever let you in no matter what, so don’t waste your time trying to get into those places and let it ruin your night.
Most of these clubs have a doorman, which is a douchey white guy with a man bun and a tacky suit, and a bouncer, which is usually a big black guy in a black suit. These guys put up with tons of bullshit, especially if the club is super popular. A lot of people plan their night out to go to the club and get really mad and douchey when they can’t get in. Others really just can’t understand the concept of a club that won’t let them in. The human ego is a fragile thing, and I’ve seen grown adults being reduced to whiny children when they can’t get into clubs, oftentimes alternating between douchey and threatening to pathetic and begging. I even saw a black guy trying to get into a club yell to the black security guard “I can’t believe you’re siding with the white man over me.” Oftentimes there will be hundreds of people trying to get into the club at once and every single person will want personalized attention from the doorman and/or bouncer.
Your best bet to get in is to know a promoter and have them put you on the club’s guest list. The best way to meet a promoter is in person, but sometimes you can just find them over the internet by googling “NYC promoters” or “Miami promoters.” The very top promoters won’t become your friend over the internet, but lower ranked ones will. A lot of times the promoters will want to see your Facebook profile before they put you on the list, so make sure you don’t look like a dweeb in your Facebook.
Another tactic to get in is to show up to the club super early, either right at opening or before it opens. For example, in New York, the staff usually starts setting up around 10 PM, the club “opens” at 11 PM, the club starts to get going around midnight, and closes at 4 AM. In that case, I will go to the club at 10 PM, and try to talk to the doorman and/or bouncer as they are setting up. I often have a nice chit chat with them and build a rapport. If you’re nice most people will enjoy talking to you. This is a perfect time to talk to them because there is nobody there so there is no huge crowd to compete for attention with. Also, the doorman and/or bouncer will probably be bored so they will enjoy talking to you.
And then I will ask politely “how do I get into this club?” Sometimes they’ll just tell me flat out that I don’t have a chance. I then thank them politely because they saved me a bunch of time and frustration. Other times, they’ll say “get here at 11:30 PM, and I’ll let you in.” Sometimes the doorman wants some money so I’ll say something like “can I slip bring you $60 to get in?” ($60 may sound like a lot to get into a club, for some of the NYC clubs, that’s a bargain). If they say yes I come back when the club is popping and put $60 in my hand. I then shake the bouncer’s hand with the $60 in there so nobody sees that I slipped him $60.
The last chance of getting in is to just standing in line and hoping that you look “cool” enough to get in. This is obviously the riskiest possibility because if they say no then you’ve stood in line all night for nothing. For this work you need to be super good looking and/or dressed super hip and unique – you basically need to look like a character in a hip music video.
Oftentimes if there is a long line, I will walk to the front and just ask the doorman or bouncer “if I stand in this line, will I get in?” Or if I’m in the front of the line and I feel like I have been waiting for a while I will say “am I wasting my time by standing here?” They oftentimes respect being honesty and non-douchey.
The best demeanor to get into a club is humble confidence. You don’t want to look like an aggressive douche but you also don’t want to look pathetic and desperate. Just nicely ask once or twice. If they continue to ignore you or tell you that you can’t get in, just leave. It’s not worth your time to argue or sulk.
Motion creates emotion
Now that you’re in the club, you need to stay in motion. It’s unattractive to just stand there and stare at girls. You need to be doing something at all times – walking around, ordering a drink, talking to somebody. Motion creates emotion. If you have nothing to do, start chatting with the security guard. It’s good to get those guys on your side. Or just chat with other guys at the bar. Or ugly girls. Or anybody. A good tactic is to introduce yourself to the club employees early in the night and then later when you meet a girl, introduce her to the employees. Bam! Now you look like you own the club.
The VIP section
When I go to a club, I go to the bottle service tables. My goal is to get kicked out of at least 2 tables a night. There is about a 50% chance I will get kicked out of a table, so if I try to get kicked out of 2 tables a night, that means I will usually end up being accepted at 2 or 3 tables. It’s actually a great way to meet people. Most tables are bought by nerdy Indian guys or old white guys, so I will walk up to them and try to find out who “owns” the table. Then I will introduce myself politely and say “Hi, I’m Woujo, do you mind if I bring girls to this table?” Most people will enthusiastically say “yes!” but sometimes people will be like “who are you” or “no we don’t need girls.” If a person says “who are you” they usually want to kick me out. I don’t care – I’ll keep introducing myself to people at the table (not the girls, yet – I don’t want them to think I’m there to take over their pussy) until I get kicked out.
After I get kicked out of a VIP table, I go walk around a little bit and then try to get into another VIP table. The key here is to not let the club security figure out what you’re doing because they might throw you out of the club completely. Also, when I get kicked out of a VIP table, I usually go back later in the night and try to get kicked out again a second time. Usually when you go back they respect your courage and let you stay.
Meeting girls
Hopefully by now you’ve gotten some nerd to let you use their VIP table as “home base” for bringing back girls. Now you can go approach girls. YOU MUST TALK TO THEM. You see, a lot of girls just go to the club to dance and have fun, and they don’t want to meet guys. These girls will even come up to you and start grinding on you or grabbing your butt or something. Most guys get excited at this, but I know its just a tease. I always, always, always, introduce myself to the girl. If she introduces herself back and we start talking, I know she’s game. But sometimes a girl will start dancing with me and when I try to talk to her she will go cold – that’s when I know she’s just there to act silly.
My best approach lines:
Hi, my name is Woujo. Hey, how are you? What’s your deal?
Once the conversation gets going, I follow up with “do you want to dance”? If it’s a quieter club and there is a possibility for conversation I might say “what did you do today?” Then I’m in.
The best places in clubs to meet people are the bathroom line and the cigarette area.
If I want to get saucy, I’ll go up to the hottest girl in the club and say “you are the hottest girl here right now, I probably couldn’t handle you” or I will say “you are way too hot for the guys you are with.” (Please be careful how and when you say this).
There are a lot of flaky and stupid girls at the club that just want to go out and get silly so my goal is to weed them out immediately. I will usually ask a girl immediately if she is single. You would be amazed at how many married woman go to the club just to get attention from guys and then go home to their husbands. Fuck that. I’m not interested. One time in Miami I was talking to a girl and I asked her if she was single and she said “no, I’m married.” I asked her where her husband was and she said “over there.” She pointed to the corner and her husband was standing there looking at the ground, sad. Ugh.
After I chat with the girls for like 45 minutes to an hour, I then ask them if they want to go back to my friend’s table. They usually do. So I take them back. Of course, the guys at the table are excited I brought the girls back, and they are going to want to “game” the girls. Of course, I let them try, knowing full well that the guys will probably fuck it up by being creepy and the girls will come back to me. That way, I’ve gotten the girls free drinks, I’ve “saved” them from the creeps, looking like a hero, and I’ve had them change their location once. Wins for me. And on the small chance the girls actually like the guys at the table, then I just leave them there, but that’s never happened, even when the guys at the table were celebrities.
Cocaine and/or molly
It’s a sad fact about club life that a lot of girls want to do cocaine and/or molly and if you have some you will almost guaranteed get girls to hang out with you. I don’t encourage this behavior but I will acknowledge it works.
Afterparty
Ideally, you will have cool friends that will hook you up with cool afterparties. If you don’t have cool friends like that, find some. In big cities like NY and LA tons of girls are looking for a fun afterparty and there aren’t any. I had a friend in LA who would walk up to random girls after the club and say to them “hey, Paramount Pictures is having an afterparty at X location. Want to go?” EVERY SINGLE TIME it worked, with even the hottest girls. Of course, there was no actual Paramount Pictures afterparty, so it was kind of a waste, but it does show the power of an afterparty.
I saw a video of RSD Julien saying to lie to girls about there being an afterparty and then just bring them back to your place. I wouldn’t do that. That’s sounds creepy and manipulative to me. I try to be above board and honest about everything I’m doing.
It’s a key tenet of PUA that girls are a lot more likely to dig you if you get them to move to different locations, and most girls are looking for an afterparty after the club is over. The best move is to tell a girl “hey, there is an afterparty after this. I don’t want to stay out all night, but I was planning on going for a bit.” Then you go to the afterparty. The afterparty is usually not that good, so I just say “you want to go back to my place and have a drink?” They usually say yes.
Sometimes, if a girl is super ready to go, I’ll skip the afterparty or I won’t even wait for the club to close. You have to read her correctly. If she’s not going home with you, cut her loose earlier so you don’t look like a creep that is going to hang around all night. Get her number and then text her that night to say “nice to meet you, I’ll call you this week to hang out.”
Other random tips
Don’t get too drunk – always be less drunk than her
Don’t let your phone die – you want to be able to order an Uber or call her for late night
Keep your wits about you so you don’t get robbed or your wallet stolen
Don’t buy girls drinks.
Beware of prostitutes trying to trick you into thinking they are regular girls.
