When I first joined this sub a few years ago that seemed to be the core principal and it still holds true. The meta may change, culture may shift, it may be slightly more challenging with covid and whatnot, but IMO the only way to guarantee some level of success is to approach a lot and consistently.

It's a numbers game which you should all take great comfort in. You're a decent dude right? But still it can be challenging to get with a great girl with all the competition and whatnot; hell let's out your odds of a random 8+ you approach going on a date with you at 2%. Reasonable. That's fantastic, that means you only have to approach more or less 50 8+s and you'll have yourself a date.

It gets easier over time as well, trust me. It's a muscle. I'm super socially anxious, and my first approaches ever I'd be visibly sweaty and barely mumble out "you're cute". They pitied me but hell even that felt awesome to be making progress.

Well anyway I like to practice what I preach. I'm writing this out at the mall right now. Once I hit post I'm going to challenge myself to hit two approaches within the next 20 mins. Almost certainly will be rejections but hell I could use it I've been getting rusty myself during the last year. Either way I'll update this post with the results, if enough people are about it maybe we can make this a more regular thing with others joining in and holding each other accountable daily. Update 1.0: alright i failed a little on the timeliness but I hit about 1.25 approaches in the first 15 minutes.

Right after posting I went in the coffee shop, grabbed a coffee, the girl working is really cute, very alt and tatted which I like. Talking with her the whole time, what's her fav drink, etc. Before I left I gave it a go with 'hey before I left I'd feel terrible if I didn't ask you out', she was really nice about it but has a boyfriend. Still an awesome encounter and great way to get the ball rolling.

I live in a bit of a retirement town so the only other girl of appropriate age was this fine hispanic girl working in a shop. Couldn't tell if she was on a speaker call though so I went in very indirect (which I'm usually not a fan of except for when I want to check out the situation), so asked directions and she was friendly as well, however I saw what definitely looked like a dimaond on her ring finger so didn't go direct and just left it at that. Disappointed with that one though since I didn't do anything requiring balls, I'm going to keep trying to see if I can hit my goal within the next 30 minutes soon but for now the under 40 crowd of girls here appears tapped out.
