I did early in the process. Then I learned all about how women operate and realized it wasn't all my fault. Huge motivator to get out of bed and stop the pitty party. Hit the gym hard. Remember this, you are the prize not your stbx. Society has it all screwed up.

No shame in the occasional mental health day. Just don't make it a habit and work on being happy as yourself without someone else.

If this becomes habitual get some help for depression. Sometimes these life events can throw us into depressive cycles that dont just clear up on their own.

But yknow, a day off never hurt anybody. Just rest and recover and get back to it tomorrow.

If you can't get out of bed to do something for yourself, get up to do something for someone else. But yes, the gym is great too--has been important for me.

Its natural to, literally, need time to heal, but you already know that this level of torpor can't go on--get help if you need it.

Normal man. I’m confident you’ll find your swagger again - just takes time and patience. Use that PTO realign the chi, eventually you’ll dust yourself off and see that you’re still standing after one of the worst emotional battles anyone can go through.

I know I've taken many mental health days. I told my boss flat out I was taking off the date of my anniversary to keep myself busy with things I actually enjoy. He was very receptive and understanding about it.

Start working on your mental health and remind yourself of how awesome you are by yourself. Those days will start to slip into the past as you go through the motions.
