Hi, I'm 26 (m). My wife and I grew up in the same place and we've been in a relationship since almost a decade. And we got married 4 years ago.

After a few years of our relationship, I realized that she has a, sort of, controlling nature. She always tries to dominate me and also very clingy. Since then, she always tried to control what I do and who I spend time with, which resulted losing my friends. I guess I was madly & blindly in love with her and so I didn't notice any of these behaviors in the beginning.

After our marriage, some new problems started to arise. She started hating my family right after the marriage because my family didn't happily accept our marriage. That makes sense. But every now and then, she starts fighting with me because of my family. She abuses me, insults me and we even get into physical fights. And then she tries to pack her bags and get out of the house. But if I don't do anything and let her go, then she makes a scene out of it saying that now I don't love her and letting her go.

I'm the only earning person in our 2-people's family. She's basically a housewife (which is fine by me). Yet after my work, I'm forced to help her with the chores, cooking, cleaning and all.

It kinds of feels like everything is dependent on my actions. If I keep quiet and endure all these, then everything's fine. But otherwise, everything is my fault. She never ever tries to acknowledge her behavior. She even asked for a divorce like million times, but it's all fake. If I get serious about it, then she diverts this and tries to blame me for wasting all these years of her life.

The society I belong to doesn't consider divorce as an option. And people usually look down at persons who are divorced.

What should I do?
