Divorce exacerbates problems people already have: Not being an involved parent, not being organized, living a lifestyle they can't afford, not tracking expenses, etc. You can't build an app to fix people.

I love this idea. I was “lucky” that our finances were pretty straightforward and that we lived in a no-fault divorce state. Maybe something that links to divorce procedures for the state you live in, a way to put in financial assets that need to be split, or anything that would allow the user to gain some idea of what needs to happen and how to do it. Anything that can help you navigate a divorce without the need to get a lawyer involved. Is that what you’re looking at creating?

I’ve done this and still working on it. The premise is that my ex is a vivacious litigant, which meant I needed to stay on top of every little fact. The system I built personally isn’t available live yet, but the purpose was to keep track of lawyer correspondence, meet and confer letters, and inventory different contempt violations to the court order. It let me keep track of every little detail and chronolog every little detail I needed. Still got fucked being a guy, but was worth it imo. Kept me sane. I can upload it somewhere and share a demo.

I think rather than creating a tool, it's always better to create a community where help can be provided. I mean if there is an app or system that can give legal, financial and psychology counseling at nominal rate, that would be very much helpful. If this is specifically for the divorced father's, real people can make them prepare for the worst things and arguments that can happen. In my case my lawyer told me to file for the visitation rights only after the divorce and now in the mediation , ex accusing me that I am not interested in seeing the child otherwise I should have filed the case already. If there is a committed community where I can discuss these kind of things and seek an opinion on each move , that would be much helpful. I don't trust lawyers and I doubt they will get commission from the money that I give to ex.
