So it happened one hour ago and I don’t know how to react. I would really appreciate an advice from you guys. I apologize in advance for my English, i am not a native speaker. Me (29F) and my boyfriend (32) have been together for 6 months now. We didn’t have any major issues and even started talking about moving in together this April. We bought furniture for the future house, even spoke about having kids and getting married in a year or so. He is incredibly humble and fun, we share lots of common interests and had a great communication. Up until today. I usually stay with him all week and go home on Sunday, and he plays video games the whole day. This Sunday I asked him if I could stay and he happily said yes. We played, watched some series, played more games and everything seemed perfectly fine. Then I said I will skip a match and went to get some tea and that is when the storm came in. Out of nowhere I was told that this is not the way he usually spends his Sunday. That this is HIS home, HIS sanctuary and HIS little world, and if I didn’t wanna play video games the whole day non stop - I could have gone home early. I was completely shocked by the speech, calmly packed my stuff and said I will just give him some space. It freaked him out even more, he said i am walking away from a minor problem, I am being too emotional in HIS home, spoiling HIS Sunday, and that I could have just admitted that I am wrong and shut up. He ended up taking a notebook and writing down everything I said so I “can read all the bullshit I am saying later”. The whole speech was pretty ugly and hurtful, i barely had a word to say and it all ended up by me saying sorry, packing and leaving. He happily walked me to the door and slammed it. I am in shock.

Am I seeing a serious red flag?

Is this just a bump? (I know it’s not but I guess I need a confirmation)

I would have been less lost if we were 16, but the guy is 32 y.o. I was not informed in advance about “playing games the whole day” is a golden rule. I had no damn clue. I really need a couple of opinions here, I have no one I can talk to now. P.S. I stay in his apartment 6 days a week, I do all the chores, I cook and buy food, he pays the rent. We both work and we split all the expenses 50/50. But I still keep my apartment even though we practically live together. I know you can’t hear the other side of the story, but I can guarantee I haven’t said a single rude word or have been disrespectful in any way. Thank you guys in advance for all your opinions/advice.

Classic gamer rage.

Just replace 'playing video games' to 'smoking crack' in her post. The game will ALWAYS be more important. I assume they were playing some mmorpg or fps where her playing was 'detrimental' to a teams performance; or her being there caused him to dip out on his online friends' normal routine. He resented her either way.

I'm a mmorp gamer girl and have typically only dated mmorp gamers. If you find out your man plays mmorpgs tbh, run and never look back. The lines of reality are so blurred and we are so far gone with addiction there's no hope for us lol.
