I'm pro abortion in the sense that we have far too many single mothers soaking up welfare resources as it is, and it's a far cheaper option when compared to the alternative of the tax payer shouldering yet another burden.

For me, it's simply more practical. I do agree with op's point that the stance taken by the left on these issues is incredibly hypocritical though.
