It’s a philosophy for men that basically says gender roles are a biological truth and that men should be (or, are, and should “embrace” that they are) stronger, smarter, and more inherently valuable than women and that women are, no matter what they say (unless they’ve been “corrupted” by feminism) just looking for a strong provider to take the lead and tell them what to do. And then they have some weirdly manipulative suggestions for getting women to hVe sex with you and do what you want. It’s basically pickup artist shit for men who have issues.

Hey, they are free to run their group however they see fit, but MGTOW-related advice was the only romantic-relationship advice that ever helped me much. I read the mainstream dating advice before -- it's always a bunch of thoughtful, positive, hopeful views. I mean, don't get me wrong, it would be NICE if the world worked the way that they describe. But I'd try the advice, and it just would never work, and would never explain the real world. I'd try to be nice, confident, and respectful, and women would continue not wanting much to do with me with respect to dating, and then you'd see some mean, rude, stupid guy, who never read or tried any dating advice, being chased by beautiful women, with very little apparent effort on his part.

Clearly, there's some disconnect between mainstream dating advice and the real world.

I spent YEARS unhappy and confused with dating. No one cares about that though. I guess the most important thing is that everyone say that the dating world is fair and caring (even if it isn't). Once I started reading MGTOW-related material, within a couple of months, everything I had experienced in the dating world basically made sense. That is quite remarkable, don't you all think? It did not paint a fairy-tale sugar-coated picture of dating and romantic relationships, but at least I had some theory to work with, that (unlike mainstream advice) appeared to remove much of the confusion. The bad news was that I'd probably never find the type of romantic relationship that I had dreamed of. The good news was that, with my options cleared up in my mind, I could move forward in life and make the right decisions to improve my chances at having a great life and finding happiness in my own way.

It is puzzling to me how what I just described is based on advice that certain people dislike so much, and want to censor so badly. My explanation for that is that I don't think that I have ever found one of these people who are negative on MGTOW, who actually understood what MGTOW really is -- simply walking away from marriage and other serious romantic relationships. They want so badly to censor this, yet it's a normal choice that people already have; after all, in the countries that I'm familiar with, no one is supposed to HAVE to get married. They do it because they WANT to; that is, it is their CHOICE.

The people who don't like MGTOW always seem like they read some MGTOW posts from guys who are negative because they went through really bad divorces (for example). Then that negativity is assumed to be what MGTOW is, which is INCORRECT.

If I had never learned about MGTOW, to this day, I'd probably be unhappy, disappointed in myself, and think of myself as a failure, while continuing to try and fail at dating -- or have bad experiences when I did date. People who want to censor MGTOW never seem to care about a guy suffering like that though. With MGTOW, I learned that dating was just one part of life, that it wasn't the answer to everything, and that I didn't even have to do it. I learned that guys were failing at dating, and/or having bad dating/romantic-relationship experiences, as a REGULAR part of the human experience these days. That is, I wasn't the only one, so why exactly should I consider myself to be a failure? Indeed, why should I even bother dating anymore? After all, why should everything be one-way? Why should all the work and disappointment of dating get pushed on me, and on other guys like me, while other people got to have great fun, who often didn't even appear to be nice people and thus even deserving of such great fun, with little to no effort from them. Why SHOULDN'T I just walk away from dating and romantic relationships?

Yes, relationship advice reddit groups are free to run their own groups as they choose, but, in my book, they are hiding what could be key helpful information for a lot of guys if they censor MGTOW-related information. No one even HAS to go MGTOW, but guys should at least be able to learn that it is an option that has worked for some guys. I mean, what's more important, giving sugar-coated information, or giving information that WORKS and that HELPS? What is the point of giving advice if it isn't helping?
