I think is very likely that the online dating app algorithms are intentionally making it so matches happen much less than they used to and also creating fake profiles that make you think you've matched but its not a real person (The FTC is suing over this). They do all of this to "encourage" you to pay a premium level and year after year they keep lowering the success rate knowing the desperate will keep paying even for crumbs.

Match Group is now a public company and they consolidated the major dating platforms owning Tinder, OKCUpid, PlentyOfFish, Hinge and match.com with $1.7B in revenues and an astounding $473M in net income.

I had friends that would meet up with different groups of girls to hang out and get to know. This no longer exists.

Shoot, I still like to date and go out to have a good time with women but it is like these women have no interest in being with anyone even if you are a good looking dude with a job, a car, a place, and have interesting things about yourself.

Speaking from my experience in the OLD realm, I would say so. Female entitlement, fueled by Tinder and social media, has completely poisoned relations between the sexes and pulled quality relationships beyond the reach of the vast majority of men. I’m an honest, decent man with a solid professional career, ample savings, and zero debt. I will never be dazzlingly handsome, but I stay in shape and know my way around the finer points of dress and grooming. It was stunning and surreal to craft thoughtful, individualized openers, only to be ignored and ghosted by even crass, uneducated, obese, bottom-tier hags. Needless to say, I was also passed over by any woman whom I would have considered a relationship prospect, even by my quite meager standards. Eventually I gave up and learned to put my efforts toward myself, but the callousness and narcissism I was exposed to still leaves an ugly taste in my mouth. Double standards are the order of the day—women claim it as their “right” to treat men as disposable beasts of burden, and attempt to shame into silence any who would call out this attitude with accusations of misogyny. We live in a culture where despicable female behavior is constantly rationalized, downplayed and denied. Women by and large thumb their noses at any expectation that they behave with transparency, decency or accountability toward the men they date. Yet we men are still expected to fulfill our traditional obligations, without any of the accompanying respect that was our fathers’ due. We shoulder the full initiative of asking women out, as well as planning (and most likely paying for) every date. Moreover, we take on the emotional labor (to borrow a feminist buzzword) of constantly playing the dancing monkey to entertain them—no mean feat given how many are too vapid and lazy to participate in substantive intellectual conversation. Women don't need to look at any man in real life anymore. If you think about it, it actually suits them better to meet men from dating apps who live a few hours away (or even in other states). That way they can preserve their image of a good girl when they actually do want to settle down.

Meeting a man in real life (at work, gym) carries the consequence of the that image being shattered. So if she does go with a guy IRL, he would definitely have to be something special.
