As we know, reddit was designed not to be a community, but a platform for communities. Admins have remained neutral 'groundskeepers' to allow the development of these diverse groups.

And most of us know something about r/shitredditsays by now. We know their ideology, and we know why they crosspost on reddit. And we're aware of their ongoing efforts to smear reddit as far and wide as they can without leaving their white, cisgendered, heteronormative basements.

A few days back, a prominent member of r/antisrs started a subreddit with the stated goal of countering SRS vote brigades. After complaints from SRS members to the admins, the sub was quickly banned. Another existing sub, this one belonging to another ASRer, was offered up to take its place, but with a rule stating that downvoting in linked threads would result in a ban. Observe the thread, don't get involved.

A few hours later this sub, too, was banned. No explanation given; multiple attempts at communication ignored over several days.

Back to admin neutrality. It's clear that at least one admin has now taken sides, and worse: they've decided to favor a group that's hostile to the site and openly seeks to damage its reputation. This is a cause of concern not just for redditors, but for the other admins and reddit Inc. as a whole.

In order for reddit to be successful in its mission, its rules must apply to all.

If this situation bothers you, then let them know that we want the admins to be neutral groundskeepers once again. That if crossposts are such a menace to reddit, then we need an impartial solution and not this biased application of policy where favorites are picked by a rogue admin. That we don't want admins contributing to an effort to slander all of us.

And if the powers that be would help the cat ladies at r/shitredditsays make some friends while they're at it, that'd be cool, too.
